    Advantages Advantages try before you buy is attractive and so is flexi-pay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages bad delivery and poor customer service even when they acknowledge non-receipt

    Ordered Sleep Genie memory foam mattress, two memory foam pillows and a memory foam topper on flexi-pay on 29/8/12. The site did not take my 10% off code on this order and I could not see this until the next day because the order does not show up immediately. Tried to amend the order but there is no facility to do this, once you have placed an order, you must take delivery of it unless you ring and cancel before it is shown on your account apparently according to customer services.     I ordered a memory foam mattress from Ideal World. Just after I had placed the order online I realised it was only 2cm of memory foam and not 2 inches as I thought. It was late at night and it said their customer service lines were open 24 hours so I phoned them on an expensive 0871 number. It took about 15 mins before the line went quiet and I realised no-one was going to answer. I then cancelled by email.     Ordered goods which have to say arrive within the delivery time, but completely different goods to what i paid for! after calling was told if i wrap the goods, take them to the post office and post them back, give it 3 days to arrive then a further 2 days to be processed then 7 days later i can expect to get what i paid for! I was fuming, called the company for 3 days, with advisers telling me i would get a call back, nothing! emailed them and nothing!! no one seemed to care! they took my money a day after purchase, i should have an apology and been told the replacement correct goods would be ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very poor customer service if there is a problem.

    Until 4 years ago I was a hardened shopaholic and couldn't live without my carrier bags from certain stores. I was then introduced to QVC and was converted and have purchased dozens of branded products from them ever since. I tried Ideal World the first time and bought a halogen oven from them. It was not a branded product and when it arrived it was all scratched and not of good quality so I returned it. BE AWARE IT IS NOT THEIR POLICY TO REFUND POSTAGE COSTS AUTOMATICALLY EVEN WHEN GOODS ARE DAMAGED. YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO CALL THEM AND ASK FOR P&P REFUND. Also when I left negative ... more

    Purchased a pair of Oleander standard tree's from ideal world, they were delivered about 3 weeks after ordering. found them in a cardboard box which had been thrown over my gate in to my back garden!. opened the box one of the tree's had brown crunchy leaves and the other was just hanging on. the delivery note said they had been despatched on the 11th June and I received them on the 21st June so they had been in transit for 10 days.     This shopping channel celebrating 10 years of on-air selling. I don't know how they have lasted this length of time . I give up waiting for replies from their so called customer services!!!! Try emailing, you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting a reply . Phoning is a laugh, go through all the rigmarole of the automated customer service menu and then at last directed to an adviser? ,get put on hold for another 10 minutes and the get cut off.     Be very careful about impulse buying on this channel. I bought a Cooper sewing machine on this channel last month for £134.99 plus postage. The exact model is for sale on Coopers own website for £79.99 plus free gifts and free postage. There is nothing wrong with the machine but I feel overcharged as I was taken in by the demonstrator going on about how cheap it was. I have complained to Ideal World and have been contacted by two customer service operators thanking me for the email, but they could not help as they did not have access to my email.     Avoid "Ideal World" at all costs! I bought a Ewbank Power Turbo Floor Sweeper which arrived faulty. I rang Customer services (10p a Minute) to arrange pick up a week later. I waited in all day and nobody turned up. I rung again to be told another date. Finally Home Delivery Network collected. I waited a week for a replacement and was told by email that it would take 21 days for a replacement to be delivered. I live about 20 Miles away from "Ideal World" in Peterborough.     Watched the presentation for a Ubisurfer they made it sound fantastic, so I duly ordered one along with a carry case. Delivered 4 days later but no carry case not, fantastic almost useless so I decided to return it big mistake that! 1 A long involved costly call to get returns policy. 2 Return by registered post at near £9 plus another letter with proof of posting to different address. 3 Another long call to cancel the carry case I could not make service assistant understand I had no need for item as the Ubisurfer had been refunded, yes it happened with no fuss. 4 The letters arrive stating ... more
