    Advantages Advantages indoor shooting where there is an inadequate amount of lighting due to the very bright aperture.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages funky with depth of field

    Some may use it for landscape shots due to the slightly wide angle aspect to it, although having said that I think it is aimed at indoor shooting where there is an inadequate amount of lighting due to the very bright aperture. It's one of Sigma's DC range of lenses. That means it's designed to work only with APS-C format cameras. Those have a sensor crop factor of 1.5 or 1.6x so that gives the lens a field of view equivalent to that of a 48mm f/1.4 lens on full frame body.
