    Disadvantages Disadvantages you do have to haggle and explain that you might have to leave Sky

    We have been a constant customer of Sky since 1999 We first got an analogue box all those years ago, when Granada TV in the high street were about to close down, we had been renting a television and video from them (remember that, when it was normal to rent such things?) We decided our TV was due for an upgrade and went into Granada, where we were told of a good special offer, for the same price we were paying, we took out HP for a TV and Video and got a free Sky box and free installation - we haven't looked back.     Let me start by saying that I think Sky's products are the best there is and the best value for money. I took out the TV, broadband and phoneline package and think that this package offers great quality for the price. Me and my brother done "Introduce a friend" which meant that me and him both received £75 M&S vouchers. Then I took up the unlimited broadband free for 6 months deal along with the basic TV package.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible Service - If you ever have to call Sky you are in trouble

    I signed with Sky for a broadband, talk and TV package in August 2010 - it took me 4 months of chasing Sky, never getting a call back and money spent on my phone bill and keeping with Virgin Media at the same time for services Sky failed to deliver, until I finally got all three. They then couldn't even spell my name right and when I complained was the first time they ever called me, spoke to three people in a row who didn’t listen to a word I said and told me that I had to fix their error.     This review is concerned with the Sky Online package for watching Sky channels on your pc. It isn't about any other Sky packages or products. I'd had a Sky dish for years without any problem apart from its poor showing in bad weather. When I moved to my present flat I found it wasn't possible to have a dish here. So when I heard about the package for watching on the pc I thought it would be perfect, as I only wanted to watch the occasional football or cricket match.     Disadvantages Disadvantages bad customer service, poor signal, not many good channels, too expensive

    well in my opinion dont it is so overrated. i was expecting to get so many great channels to watch but i found them boring and the only way to get the best out of it was to purchase the whole package which was way too expensive. there was hardly anything interesting on and i'd paid out all that money and stuck in a contract for not much at all. plus in my experiance i found that i kept having difficulty with signal. you would think i lived in the middle of no where but i dont. the customer service was not very good or helpfull. they just kept passing me on to someone else. in my opinion sky is ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Programming does not cater for alternative tastes for many things other than 3 or 4 music channels

    I have been very happy with my sky service, which I have been receiving for the last 4 months. In my opinion Sky provide a good quality service, with very friendly and helpful people on the other end of the phone at the customer servise center. When my sky dish was first fitted it worked well for the first couple of weeks, but then the picture quality deteriorated very quickly, to total loss of service in the space of a week, which it turned out was due to the trees coming into full leaf.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be misleading as to what you can and can't do.

    Sky TV has its advantages and its disadvantages, to be honest if you get the same package as we have, which is around £21 a month is Sky TV with all 6 entertainment packages, we don't have the movies or the sports package. The service is good, and we do pay a good price, and as me and my husband have different TV choices we do watch at least 2 of the channels from each package, but for some people, this package wouldn't be good, if you only watch one channel from a whole package you could end up paying £21 a month as you've not been informed properly of whats available which is likely with sky ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of care and resolution of any problems other than a useless discount!

    We have recently moved into a new home and wanted Sky, phoneline and broadband. Simple enough as the property already had a dish attached so it was just a case of switching it on. We have now got Sky but at that time we were also sceduled to set up broadband....2 months later....8 (Expensive) phone calls later and still no broadband! And apparently there is nothing they can do about it, the IT dept are currently trying to resolve whatever the problem is, we have had no contact to tell us the status of the broadband or when it will be installed? We wanted all 3 services from the same date so ... more

    Advantages Advantages None whatsoever, unless you like hassle!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Diabolical customer relations, even worse field escalations department.

    I'm not here to write about Sky products, I'm here to write about Sky TV themselves as a company. This is about their reluctance and inability to help a customer of over 18 years. It's about passing the blame, making sure THEY are all right. It's about dragging out a problem until you pass the contract grace period, then you are obligated for it's term. I've been with Sky Television for years now despite never being a fan of their customer service whether it's contact by phone, letter or email.     The worst customer service I have ever experienced - bar none. We booked an installation and the installer didn't turn up because there was one digit wrong in our postcode (the letter advising us of the installation had no problem arriving). The letter stated that we would receive a call from the installer before 9am on the day of the installation, but we never received a call and had to call ourselves to be told that a slot had been booked. So we waited and when the installer didn't turn up after time slot, we called again and were told that he had cancelled as the postcode was wrong ... more
