Advantages Advantages Good Value for money, Easy To Use

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit on the big side for me.

When i seen this player in the shop the first impression i got was Round, saucer like and easy to hold. I found it had Good sound especially with good head phones. The battery life is very strong compared to other players i have come accross. Line out for connecting to speakers. mp3 or atrac playback includes the folder system, easier to navigate through 100-200 songs on each cd. Can group songs in folders when you burn them so you dont have to hit track advance 150 times if you want to hear the 150th song. Good for old format old time radio plays. It plays the low grade mp3 kbs/s and ... more

    Advantages Advantages LCD display

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly heavy

i don't really see the point in buying cd players or MP3 players, for that matter, i know i had an MP3 player for christmas 2005, but before christmas 2006 it was no good basically. it literally died, and i bought a cd/mp3 player last year, and thats kinda died too, so maybe i'll just keep my money and only listen to music at home. But yet again, where would we be without technology and stuff? i think it would be wise to buy them cheap, cuz if you buy them brand new, they may only last for a few months like mine did, really disappointed in it though, but thats what happens sometimes. i may ... more

Advantages Advantages plays cd and mp3

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not an ipod

My quest for the perfect CD/MP3s player is almost through. I read a lot of reviews, surfed the net, tried actual personal CD players in different stores.. It all began one afternoon in a Wellworths store.. I was buying CDrs and I passed by a stand of CD players. There was a "venturer" CD/MP3 player for only 36$, I thought it was pretty affordable and was very curious to see how it worked. It had a few pretty interesting features like title and artist display... but to make this story short, I ended up returning it the very same day! I bought a RCA RP2527 next, better but not as good as I ... more

    2 Stars Sony D-NE715 25/02/2005
    User doesn't recommend the product

Advantages Advantages Atrac capability, battery life

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor software and value for money

I got my D-NE715 about a year ago and since then it has served me ok but is nothing special. There are a few nagging issues I shall address later. Sound Lets face it it’s a Sony, the sound quality is very good, with Mega Base to get you jumping and AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) which protects your lugs. Another feature is the G-shock, I know most players now have a very good anti skip system but the one on this player is great, I have never had it skip on me, even when I take is snowboarding! The earphones that come with the player are fairly standard Sony ones and unfortunately my ... more

Advantages Advantages Beautiful, well designed, excellent remote, battery life, features, outputs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrid software, "spin up" time in atrac/mp3 playback could have been better avoided

You rightly expect something special from Sony's "flagship" CD player, after all they more or less invented the whole portable audio player market single-handedly. The D-NE1 certainly looks the part, consisting of brushed aluminium top panels with transparent plastic surround so you can see your cd spinning merrily, and all the various sockets and buttons discreetly placed round the outer edge of the unit. It's also small - only slightly wider in diameter than a cd, and less than 2cm thick. It's multi-format playback supports standard cd audio (unsurprisingly!), but also mp3, ATRAC3 and ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing battery life, 30 albums on 1 disc

Disadvantages Disadvantages Atrac software isn't very good, included earphones are a bit "weak"

This is a really nice cd player, it does what it says on the tin (if it came in one) - the batteries last an absolute age, the sound quality is great, controls are easy to use, ability to have 30 of your favourite CD's on one disc is fantastic. Only a few minor quibbles - the software included is absolutely awful - you go through the process of importing your cd's to the ATRAC format (which takes a while), finally click "burn cd", and I got a load of errors, culminating in all I could do was quit ("are you sure? you will lose all your converted music"). Not the best way to waste a few hours of ... more

Advantages Advantages looks good, easy 2 use, huge batery life, 30cds onto 1

Disadvantages Disadvantages headphones + software provided

I came across this product whilst bored after doing my homework, fantasising about an ipod so I could store all my music. Whilst searching around the Internet I stumbled over many CD Mp3 players. I'd never heard of them before so I was intrigued to find out more. I had owned a Sony Minidisc player for about 2 years, and had become fed up with having to change the Minidisc every so often (yes I'm very lazy!) and it had become broken and did not want to send it of to the manufacturers to mend it which would have been very costly. A CD Mp3 player can store up to 30 albums onto one CD. This is ... more

Advantages Advantages 30 Cds on one disk

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Software, size

I have owned this mp3/cd for a few years now and I have to say I like the general idea, but after using an mp3 player I rued my purchase. Sony's latest offering is solid and durable, the idea is that you put 30 cd's onto one disk using the software. The software is awful! It took me a whole day to do 24 albums before realizing i had no CDRs left and had to start again the next day as there is no save feature. On the plus side though the player itself is light, durable and doesn't skip. Finding a song is quite hard work due to annoying menus. The players sound quality is good but the packaged ... more
