Advantages Advantages Fanatical quality, Superb value

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Multi-Region

I personally love films and this product really does justice for me and my entertainment needs. The ration of quality to valued is impecible for another £150 you won't find a better one. I spentt my time researching home cinemas ect. and this proved brilliant which is why I own two. This has really fed my addiction and has caused me to buy DVD's just for the purpose of watchingthem on my SONY home cinema system. This product has HD upscaling which means, it will upscale the quality of picture to suit your tv, and goes up to 1080i, works fantastically with HDTV's! I would not fault this product ... more

    Advantages Advantages Everything

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing

WOW! I have been looking for a home cinema for a while then saw a review of this product in a london magazine...They raved about it, saying that for the price it is a very good system. Found one on display and was amazed to find the speakers were actually quite small and the dvd player is quite a funky looking piece of kit. The sound out put is fantastic, nice crisp bass for music but good sound for TV / dramas etc....loads of different settings to suit what ever your watching / listening to. Add to that the upscaling dvd player, and its a perfect package Overall..... VERY impressed, i have ... more

Advantages Advantages Picture Quality and Sound

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

The first thing you have to point out on this kit is the price £180. That is a nothing to pay for what you getting. On to the kit itself. Presentation and SetUp: The DVD Upscaler unit is sleek and functional but does have some quirks. Like the way to hook up external sources. (Consoles, Sky etc). Ultimetely you need a TV with an audio out socket which you can connect a red/white RCA cable to, therefore any sound that comes out of the TV will travel into the Surround Sound (Just as stereo though). Then you have to connect these to a scart block (leaving the yellow empty) and stick that into the ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing sound and easy to set up

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I bought this product from Comet in store, on offer for £189.99, it had £10 off! It was neatly packaged in a box that was fairly heavy but we had help to carry it. Once home I unpacked it all and followed the very easy instructions to set it up. The 5 speakers and sub woofer had cables that were very clearly labelled with matching colours. You simply had to press down a plastic part, put the end of the cable in and let go of the pastic but again. The cables then plugged into the matching hole on the back of the DVD player. Once it was turned on the speakers calibrated themselves which was ... more

Advantages Advantages HDMI, easy set up with calibration microphone

Disadvantages Disadvantages no divx but otherwise perfect

I bought this unit as a replacement for my pioneer 313 home cinema system and I cannot fault it. It is a very reasonable price for a complete system with HDMI output (I paid £162 for a multi region one) The only difference between the 230 and the 231 is the colour by the way, the 230 is black, the 231 silver - designed to complement the sony Bravia TVs (which I have!) The unit was really easy to set up, just follow the on screen wizard, and it comes with a microphone for calibrating the speakers, which was fun. The sound quality is excellent on DVDs, CDs and normal TV, and the picture quality ... more
