    Advantages Advantages Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not great for large familys

This slow cooker is a very basic model I picked it up for just £10 and to be honest I am not a great cook so thought it would be perfect for cooking some nice warming meals for the winter and as I have a busy life running around after 3 children and working full time this is perfect as you just prepare switch it on and leave it to do the hard work. **What does it look like?** It comes in the colour black and is an oval shape it comes in 3 parts the cooker itself the ceramic dish and the glass lid. The lead is long enough meaning it does not need to sit right next to a plug socket to be used ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pot to big for microwave

Bought this because it was cheap and my old one was broken. It is very good for the price, no frills and very easy to use.My old slow cooker was round and I used to put the pot in the microwave to warm up quicker - but this one is too big for that, so that would be my only criticsm, but that was my own fault I should of thought of that before buying. This looks nice because of the stainless steel, and it is very easy to clean, and the crock pot fits into the dishwasher and has cleaned up very well even with dried on food. I would recommend this product as a first slowcooker because of ease of ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, cooks well, easy to clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages exterior can get very hot

I've always quite fancied a slow cooker as the idea of preparing my evening meal early on the day as opposed to when I get in from work and am invariably tired (and likely to just 'chuck something' - usually unhealthy - together) appeals to me. However, I was also acutely aware that the objects of my previous fads - steamer, ice cream maker & bread maker - sit nicely at the back of my kitchen cupboard gathering dust. With that in mind, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a slow cooker only to use it once at consign it to the never again seen pile of equipment I was collecting. Finding this ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all!

When I moved into my own flat from living with my parents I had saved a few quid up in advance to kit my new home out with. Not loads of money but a few hundred so I could go out and a dinner set, microwave, kettle and and irons and all the usual bits and pieces. My flat has a large kitchen and I went out and did get all the things I knew I needed and had a few quid left over and my kitchen, although I had bought all the essentials still looked pretty bare and untouched. I went out and bought a slow cooker. Only a small, cheap one and people laughed that I had bought one. People couldn't see ... more

    Advantages Advantages Superb price.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

With family life being as busy as it is with both my wife and myself working full time as well as being kept really busy with our two young children we were wondering about the best way to eat well instead of eating out of the freezer all the time. We noticed a couple of times after eating at my mums place that she had been making a few things in her slow cooker, so we decided that buying one for our own home might be a solution to our problem and help us out. A few of the slow cookers that we had looked at seemd to be quite expensive for what you were getting until we found this slow cooker ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great tasting meals.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages non

I was converted to slow cooking about a year ago after reading a thread on moneysavingexpert.com, and remembering i had my mums old one in the back of a cupboard, so I dusted it off and never looked back. I was heart broken when i broke the lid, and could not replace it because it was too old and the parts were no longer manufactured. I was estatic on a shopping trip to tesco I saw there own make for less than £20. This is a basic no thrills, slowcooker, which in my opionion is the best. They do what they say on the box, with little fuss. A slow cooker uses less than what you would pay to ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, easy to clean, economical, versatile. lid could be a tighter fit

Disadvantages Disadvantages no recipe book, non slip feet fall out.

I'm a newcomer to the world of slow cooking but definately converted. I did quite a bit of research into slow cookers and decided that a smaller unit would be best for our family. They seem to range from 2 litres to 6.5 litres capacity.Another consideration to make when you choose a slow cooker is the shape. After buying several slow cooker recipe books, I think that a larger and round shaped cooker is much more versatile. The books give receipes for sweet puddings that require you to use the slow cooker as a water bath. This is not easy with small oval crock pot but quite achievable with a ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

Tesco SC356 Slow cooker I am the sort of person who does enjoy both preparing and eating proper homemade food but found that once I had my son I seemed to be less motivated as once he was hungry I wanted to feed him so invested in a slow cooker so I could prepare meals in the morning so it was ready for tea. I did look around and discovered an own brand Tesco slow cooker in our local Tesco store as this was two years ago I cannot remember how much I paid but it is currently on offer for £12.69. It claims it was previously £16.69 on the website. The pot comes in three sections a cool touch ... more
