Every Saturday at work I end up going to the burger van and buying a full english breakfast, usually costing about £3.50 I suggested to my girlfriend that I make one myself when I get home, so we set off to Tesco to buy all the bits and pieces. I saw you could buy eight sausages for 48pence, weighing 454grams. I decided to give these a try, as they were going in a roll with bacon, egg , hash browns etc I couldn't see the point in spending lots on quality sausages. These sausages come in a clear thin plastic wrapper, they have the blue stripes and the red tesco logo on the front. The packaging ... more

I'm never had a problem buying food from the Value range of Supermarkets. Well perhaps when I was younger and it was considered "Scaffy", but I am conscious of the value of the £ thesedays, and I have bought Value sausages quite a lot. They cost 44p and you get 8 thick sausages in the pack ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap in Price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad Taste, slimy insides, not a good percentage of pork used, odd taste to the skin

It is not often that I cook sausages for the simple fact that I hate cooking them! If we ever treat ourselves to a fry up we nearly always go to the shop up the road from us rather than cooking it ourselves as it is cheap enough and always tastes good, however, a couple of weeks ago I had a couple of friends over and decided I would cook up a breakfast for the following morning and popped along to my nearest Tesco Express store as it is really handy. I picked up myself a packet of the Tesco Value sausages for a couple of reasons, one being that they were the cheapest option and the other was ... more

TESCO VALUE THICK SAUSAGES I really should learn my lesson and not allow my husband out shopping on his own. The results of his shopping trips usually result in him buying either the dearest item in the shop or the worst item in the shop; I find it very difficult to comprehend his shopping values. A few weeks ago, expecting a sudden burst of good weather we were planning a barbecue (just for a change), I normally have a large bag of Richmond sausages in the freezer; I find them perfect for on the barbecue. Having run out I asked my husband to pick me up another bag on a trip to Tesco ... more
