Advantages Advantages Large Database, of players - in depth managing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too out dated to play any more.

ive had this game for years, it was the best and still is in the managing terms of the game, the graphics aren't the best but you can't expect it from a game 10 years, old i find this the best football managing game still about, due to all the facilities it has, for instance being able to bet on the game your going to play. if there was going to be a re-make of this game it would be the top of the market. There are many current games like this out which are upgraded graphics and faster, but im sure that if there was a USM 07-08 it would be the No.1 football simulations for almost a decade ... more

Advantages Advantages Player editor, friendly user interface, wealth of options.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dated despite player editor?

What could a game as dated as Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 offer the modern gamer? Being a hardened football management fan I was surprised I had never heard of this title on its release. Always intrigued by the prospect of a competitor to the Championship Manager series and looking for something to spend the tail end of a twenty-pound amazon voucher on I purchased it for less than three quid of Amazon. What Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 (from now on USM 98) does that makes it stand out from its more illustrious brethren is provide a simple to use, uncluttered user interface. However, it is ... more

Advantages Advantages Gameplay is quick and easy

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor graphics, simple game

The Ultimate soccer manager series for the pc has been around a long time, but has never been that highly rated, because some areaso of the game have been buggy and others have lacked depth. However the game hs always sold fairly well due to its low price and good, fast gameplay. Unlike the championship mager series, much of the game will take care of itself for a while, and you can focus upon what you feel needs to be done at your club. USM98 has an excellent number of clubs, leagues and players. The clubs financial side can be managed, or you can be more of a coach. The game is adaptable and ... more

By Football fans......For Football Fans. Ultimate Soccer manager is a great game. You pick a side from most countries in Europe and all there divisons and you take them to glory. You can build a new stadium, by players, coaches, scouts. You can take care of shop prices and food. The multiplayer game is just as good. You need to be at the same computer but you can organise fantasy football matches and everything on it. You can also watch the matches being played. The players are in 3D and although the action isn't that good, you can still urge them on to score. (Its weird how they just run into ... more

Advantages Advantages good game, good transfer market

Disadvantages Disadvantages its never going to be CM

Since Championship Manager 2 was released some years ago, it metaphorically urinated all around the football management genre, and has since become known as the game to beat. And until now, no game has ever come close. Premier Manager 97 was simply too unrealistic, despite quite a nice game engine, and then there is the constant stream of tacky cheap crappy CM2 wannabes, such as Total Football Management, On the Ball 2, World Soccer League and so on. The game that has come closest to wrenching CM2's crown from its head is Ultimate Soccer Manager 2, now a very attractive budget buy. It ... more
