Advantages Advantages This game is a lot of fun if you're in the mood to bash somebody.

Disadvantages Disadvantages This game is weak where content is concerned.

I am not - and I repeat, NOT! - a fan of professional wrestling. I would love nothing more than to stomp Steve Austin's face, set The Rock on fire, and kick all the rest of the wrestlers' asses at once. With that out of the way, let me tell you about WWF No Mercy, one of the more popular wrestling titles for the slowly fading Nintendo 64 game console. The idea is simple: Take the World Wrestling Federation's stars, put them into a game, and let one or two players fight - versus each other or the computer. There is a storyline (albeit a rather dull and lame one involving mild profanity and ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for WWF fans, fun to play, well made, challanging

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Is there any more fun to be had than watching big oily men with bad hair throw each other around? Well, maybe only playing as them! WWF gives you and up to 3 mates the opportunity to take on the role of one of over 60 wrestlers, and beat each other up in any way you see fit. Whether you choose to use weapons, drop your opponent through a table, or just do it the old fashioned way with the hundreds of wrestling moves at your disposal, including the signiture moves for each wrestler, you're bound to have fun. There are plenty of different types of match available, with the best of them being ... more

Advantages Advantages Great single and multiplayer, plus an amazing array of wrestlers and options

Disadvantages Disadvantages A slight slow down on rare occasions

HEY YO THQ have been the leading developer in making wrestling games for the N64 since they first released WCW/NOW World Tour. All the THQ wrestling games astounded the N64 wrestling fans, so WWF No Mercy had a hard act to follow. Having all ready bought WCW/NOW Revenge I knew what to expect, but I was surprised to see the how realistic the game looked and played. All though some people criticise about the wrestlers looking blocky, I think the look suites the game perfectly. The amount of choices of matches is enormous, from your basic one on one, to a tag team ladder match, they have even ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good graphics, realistic.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too slow and boring, and it erases all your data!!

The sequel to the best-selling WWF Wrestelmania 2000 is finally here, but does it live up to the hype? Is it better than Smackdown 2? Have THQ done the job? And more importantly, can Scottie 2 Hottie do the worm? The answers? Maybe, no, maybe, yes. From the moment you turn the game on, the games smacks of authenticity. You are treated to a brilliant game-rendered intro, which is fully customizable (you can change the Rock to look like Angle, or one of the women to look like good old JR). Then, once in the game proper, you have many options: Exhibition, Career, and Smackdown Mall among others ... more

    Advantages Advantages its WWF

    Disadvantages Disadvantages its WWF

Wrestling there isn’t really much to say about it , a bunch of sweaty Americans having a play fight, not really my sort of entertainment. So you can understand that at first I was quite sceptical about getting No Mercy, but I wanted a fighting game and let’s face it the only other kinds of beat em ups available for the N64 are either cartoon button bashers or Xena the Warrior Princess. When I first got the game home I turned it on too hear the most cliché Wrestling music possible, some weird sort of mullet rock number, I really started to wonder what I had let myself in for. It was ... more

Advantages Advantages New Features, Great Game-engine, Create-a-wrestler

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have played alot of wrestling games in my life and this one absolutely knocks the stuffing out of any I have ever played. The first thing people would use against this game is that the game-engine is very old. A good 4 or 5 years old but the fact remains that it is still the BEST. Firstly the game-engine is so good because of the way moves are executed. The graphics are not the most realistic but they give the game a certain feel, and the moves look incredibly realistic. Not jerky like Smackdown on the PSX, but the motion is almost identical to watching the moves performed in real life ... more

Advantages Advantages So many features you'll never get bored

Disadvantages Disadvantages not long before another comes along

The franchise of WWF products has always been popular, especially the games, which have come in leaps and bounds since the days of the super Nintendo and Sega Megadrive. As the WWF becomes more and more popular so do wrestling games. Now that THQ has acquired the WWF licence, the number of games has risen considerably. The latest instalment is ‘No Mercy’, boasting up to date wrestlers, music, costumes, and moves. Big promises, but do they deliver? THQ games always have a unique style, which make the whole experience more interesting. No Mercy comes with a roster of over 60 ... more

Advantages Advantages Great game play, features, graphics, sound.. everything in fact

Disadvantages Disadvantages the glitch which wipes all progress on the cart/

Having loved all of the previous wrestling games (WCW/NWO v.s World Series, WCW/NWO Revenge & the excellent WWF Wrestlmania 2000) I was expecting a lot from WWF No Mercy. Using the same, easy to use and thoroughly fun engine as the previous game (albeit vastly updated) I was able to start playing the game straight away without trouble. The wrestler selection screen is not as straightforward as the one in 2000 as it displays a small thumbnail picture of each wrestlers face as opposed to their name, however I quickly got used to that. Upon playing my first match (a one on one with Kane v ... more

Advantages Advantages great game, all the WWf brawlers

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little slow, and bugs in some copies

As soon as No Mercy came out, I wanted to get it. I am a big fan of wrestling, especially any games based on it by THQ. I've rented their other great titles, NWO vs WCW Revenge, and Wrestlemania. No Mercy is a great game. The campaign mode is detailed, as you follow a wrestler through their career to a title match. In some matches, the story changes whether you win or loose, but some matches you must win. You can compete for any belt, but unfortunately, you can take a man through the women's championship! You form alliances along the way, as well as enemies. Another great addidition is ... more
