    Advantages Advantages Giorgos Samaras

Disadvantages Disadvantages There are no possible disadvantages to the Greek football team!!!

Now with Euro 2012 coming soon I though this was far to good an opportunity to miss picking my dark horse to win Euro 2012, now England are the obvious dark horses but they really have no chance of winning it. I therefore decided to go for the team that I thought had equally little chance of winning the thing - Greece. Now having done some research I think that the Greeks have a great chance of winning the competition. There are a number of reasons I think that Greece can win Euro 2012: In qualifying for Euro 2102 the Greeks were in a very tough group and managed to win the group, even beating ... more

They say the European Championship is harder to win than the World Cup, every group game tough and so knockout rounds even tougher, yet throws up unlikely winners over the years as the big beast take each other out in the quarter-finals, Denmark and Greece memorable (or rather unmemorable) quirky winners. Denmark surprisingly beat France, Germany and Holland to glory in 1992 whilst Greece took the trophy with five set-piece goals in 2004 playing truly dreadful football. They were nearly as boring as England in the last few years. England won’t be winning it. We know Germany are probably going ... more

Advantages Advantages England pleasant land 'united'

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some strange occurrence will spoil the party

Hark; I can here the distant thunder of heavy galloping thuds, Cheer a plenty in this neighbourhood. England, England screamed by hoarse vocals – those female cries of utter anguish, their bottom lip trembling mercilessly - it's nearly here again. Euro 2012 is on the horizon – fear not our brave lions – for you are now my dark horse – nostrils flared, brown eyes wild, hooves pounding the hard green turf in Poland and Ukraine. To be a man is to face your fears; you’ve faced your fears, gallant, victorious men on German soil, defeated the enemy and prospered – Feed off the glory of glorious ... more

Advantages Advantages Interesting draw gives the dark horses a more sporting chance.

Disadvantages Disadvantages If you don't like football your tv viewing is going to be seriously compromised!

It could well be that the Euro 2012 tournament will run to form and no team other than Spain, Germany or Holland will prevail. However, after the victory of Greece not too many moons ago, is it possible that an outsider can re-write the script? Russia make some appeal, chiefly because they are the best team in the weakest group. So an easy passage could ignite similar confidence and self-belief that manifested itself in their unanticipated, 2008, 3-1thrashing of a much fancied Holland side. The flipside for Russia's chances is the fact that if they win their group (A) they will meet the runners ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Group, Experience, Conditions

Denmark FIFA rank Denmark's National Football Team as 10th in the world, quite a high place above the likes of former European and World champions Italy and France. Ask anyone relatively well versed in the sport and Denmark most likely will not be brought up in conversation, with only a handful of well known players and a quiet national league, The Danish Superliga. Having won the Euros in 1992, with the mighty beast Peter Schmeichel between the sticks, the Danish have the slightly distant experience of going all the way and considering the latest squads recent results, one would think they ... more
