    Having been a customer of Zooplus and having recommended the company to quite a few people, I have today told them that I will not be shopping with them ever again. I placed a large order and they failed to deliver, so for the first time I had to deal with Zooplus Customer Service. What a nightmare: they just kept telling me the order would be delivered (when obviously the courier had lost the parcel) and then, when I asked for a refund, said that they would not refund my money until the courier had delivered the parcel back to them (is this legal?)     Why I use it From 2005 to 2009 I had a Trophy pet food franchise and delivered what I considered to be the best quality dog and cat food to customers in this area. It's a natural dry food with no additives and there is no laboratory testing on animals involved. All very important to me. My dogs had never had any other food. After we sold the business, I continued to get the food from the franchisees in a neighbouring area, but with 2 big dogs who get through a 15kg bag in 2.5 weeks, it was becoming more of a hassle to get it.     I just got my first delivery from zooplus, so don't have a plenty experience with them, but so far really happy. I was actually bit worry, as I read previous reviews, and some people seem to have serious problems with delivery services. Well, I got my order in 6 days, included weekend. I found really handy the possibility of tracking delivery on GLS website! At the day of delivery I couldn't be at home for some time, driver rang and agreed to come back later.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Unprofessional manner, condescending attitude.

    I ordered a large, Gullivers dog travel crate. I tried to attach the side locks/clips, spent an hour trying and could not attach them. It seems they were the wrong size or something. I have never had trouble with putting together dog crates or anything else that needs assembly for that matter. My husband too, couldn't affix them and he's a carpenter and an engineer. I asked to return the item and get a refund or order a different one from them. Zooplus asked me to send photos of the clips and crate which I did.     I have been buying from Zooplus.co.uk for over 2 years now and I asbolutely love it. I know that when I need something for my cat, fish and small pet and I will find it on the website and if I cannot find it, the customer service will put me in the right direction. In particular their facebook page is really useful to ask them questions. I am buying everything I need for my pets from them: they have a wide range of products for all budgets and goods are delivered quickly and all well packaged.     I research and compare different suppliers prior to every pet type purchase I make. Zoplus always come out cheapest, always. In addition to the product being cheaper, delivery over £19 is free. For purchases under £19, there is small delivery charge (can't remember how much exactly), even with this, the over price still leaves Zooplus as the cheapest in most cases. I recently purchased 7.5k of Arden Grange from Zooplus, for £7 less than a local supplier I have used in the past.I am currently expecting my most recent order today / Monday.     After deciding that my dwarf hamsters needed a bigger cage i took a liking to the Savic Hamster Heaven cage, so i done an online price comparison using google shopping and found that Zooplus were the cheapest. The website looked okay and the price was great, i only wish i had read up on some reviews before parting with my money. I placed the order on 2nd November and received an email on 3rd November to advise that my order had been dispatched, and i could expect to receive it within 3-4 working days.     I have just put in my second order as the first order was really good value, great quality and arrived quickly - along with a 10% voucher off the next order. They have a superb range of products - so you should be able to find treats, etc for the fussiest pet! Lots of useful info such as ingredients and constitution of the pet food. Great photos so you can see exactly what you're getting. Superb deals if you buy food in bulk. Also lots of toys, training aids, agility equipment available - although I haven't tried that yet - waiting for Christmas! And they even take Paypal so there's no messing ... more

    I could go on and on with reporting much grief acquired with ordering form Zooplus. The most recent is waiting for goods ordered two months ago that were on a special offer then. Previously some cat litter was delivered four weeks after the order. They do not always advise that certain goods are out of stock or no longer sold and you can place the order on goods that are not available. Then they advise that the goods are not available but still no mention to that effect on the website the item still being offered. On occasions their emails would be in German.     My zoo has now just about reached its limits. As well as dogs usually being in the house, I have a pair of tortoises, 10 turtles, rats, hamsters, some fish, a lot of invertebrates and amphibians. The great thing is, I can buy everything they need from one place, without breaking the bank, and that place is Zooplus. I find the website itself is very easy to use, but then I am used to it.
