1 Star Quick review of bluemountain.com by Londonbikebob 30/11/2008
Sharp practice at Blue Mountain. Bluemountain.com contacted me to say they would be renewing my membership and collecting the cost from my debit card, unless I cancelled via their member site. The snag is that there is everything on the site except a method of cancelling, so I have had to contact my bank to alert them of this scam. No doubt Blue Mountain, like many other organisations, rely on people not being alert enough or having the time to cancel. The internet is a wonderful thing. It's a pity so many crooks take advantage of it.

Advantages Advantages Great alternative to traditional cards

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Requires a membership

Christmas is a time when we all go searching for those special cards for all of our family, friends, coleagues, etc. Spending lots and lots of money, using all that paper and card. Not to mention the postage costs. Stop! There are alternatives. eCards for one. These are electronic cards sent via email. They can be found on most search engines or other websites. They show the same sentiment, but cost nothing, and save paper. BlueMountain is a great site. The animations and music are outstanding. Put simply, it is the best eCard site I have found. In a world where being eco-friendly is seen as ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lots of cards

Disadvantages Disadvantages Intrusive of your computer, lots of popups, difficult to cancel

I joined Blue Mountain two years ago. Blue Mountain creates all kinds of ecards, for birthdays, holidays, etc. Unbeknownst to me, they automatically debited my credit card at the end of the year without notice. I only found out about it when I received my credit card statement. Just now I tried to send a card and my computer kept getting pop ups . Apparently it would knock me off line because I have pop ups blocked. Most importantly, when I tried to cancel my credit card, or delete the credit card information so I would not get billed again, they would not let me. Also there is no place to ... more

Advantages Advantages A Site that is reliable.

Disadvantages Disadvantages They have lost a lot of their appeal.

I joined Bluemountain.com a couple of years ago, and it was a site that offered more than the usual in the way of ecards. They had a section where people could write poetry, and the winning entries into the poetry competitions were used for ecards. What I liked about this site was that you could always find a poem to suit every occasion, and just browse through so many poems with wonderful backgrounds, add music that you liked, and send them to people that mattered to you. It was an extraordinary experience, and many of the poets that contributed to the site were extremely skilled in ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots and Lots to choose from.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages There are none

One of my friends turned 17 last Tuesday and due to my current A level examination overload I completely forgot. It was not only untill 11 o clock that evening that the ligh bulb switched on in my head and I remembered. Of course when I tryed to phone to wish my friend many happy returns the line was engaged, she was on the net! So while beating myself for forgeting I had only one option-that was of the e-card. I had never tryed this method before, the search engine listed many websites, however one cought my attention, that was Blue Mountain. Blue mountain saved my friendship and on top of ... more

I've used a number of different e-card sites around the web, but always end up back at good old Bluemount Cards. Found at www.bluemountain.com you will find thousands of e-cards for all sorts of different occasions. On the homepage, there will be a selection of cards on show, along with the month we're in down the left-hand side. Under the month will be the days and what each day is. Usually, there's a day for something or other around the world. Be it a religious occasion of some sort, or a national day for something. There are cards to send about anything and everything that is happening in ... more

I have been using this site now for several years and it is one of my favoirtes for sending e-cards. I enjoy sending cards out all the time for an occasion or just to say I was thinking of you, or I miss you, or just to cheer some one up. They have cards for every occasion you can think of and then some. Funny cards, serious cards , cards with poetry and so on. It takes no time at all to pick out a card and send it. You just type in your name and e-mail and the same info for the person it is going to and then you can also type in your own message. Some of the cards even have music. You can ... more

Advantages Advantages great selection - no cost!

Disadvantages Disadvantages none! possibly quite pricy? i dont know.

I have been using Blue Mountain for over a year since my (ex) boyfriends birthday last September. I forgot to get him a card. So I came on the net and looked for birthday cards. And I came across this site. There are loads and loads of categories to choose from, not just the usual birthday, anniversary, birth, congratulations, wedding etc etc... but there are also some stranger ones like teacher day and australia day. Very handy. This site is great though cos it really does cater for every need. Take the birthday section. There are cards suitable for mum, dad, granny, grandad, cousin, auntie ... more
