Advantages Advantages Points build up very quickly and for only 20 minutes a time

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough survey invitations

Many people love getting paid for the odd survey and YouGov is one of the better sites for achieving this. I've been a member of YouGov for around 3 and a half years since my wife Sue mentioned the site to me when we were looking for ways of trying to boost our income after a pretty rock patch where money was really tight. Unlike many of the other survey sites YouGov surveys have never screened me out and invites are normally at least one per month lasting anything from 10 to 20 minutes often with the odd question on politics but more often the questions are product identifiers in which you ... more

Advantages Advantages Interesting topics, regular surveys and good payout

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can take a while to reach the threshold

YouGov is a survey website which captures information on public opinion. Quite often the topics are politics and current affairs, but other times you get asked opinions of brands (known as brandindex) and things like use of holiday companies. Surveys are paid at 25, 50, 75 and 100 points. There are also prize draw surveys where you can win cash prizes (I've never been that lucky!). You need 5000 points for a payout and when you reach that magic amount of points, a cheque for £50 wings its way to you pretty quickly. I joined YouGov having been made aware of some statistics they had generated ... more

Advantages Advantages Good reliable survey site that pays out.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a while to reach the £50 payout level

Yougov is one of the first survey sites I ever joined. I've been a member there since December 2002 so a fairly long membership. During that time I've done a wide variety of surveys for them from political ones - when I first joined it was mostly political surveys in fact. To consumer surveys and surveys on what people know about various subjects from TV to illnesses and many more. Each time you do a survey you get rewarded for it. There are two types of reward, entry into a prize draw, or cash payment. I normally stick to doing the cash payment ones only, but I've done the occasional prize ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, lots of surveys, easy to use, good referral system.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a long time to reach £50 payout

How To Join. There are two ways to join YouGov. Either go to their website www.yougov.com and click "sign up", or you can use someone's referral link that they give you. Yougov offers a very good referral service in that for anyone that you refer, however much they earn in their first 3 months, you will earn the same amount too. It works very well, however I have i the past referred a friend, and they have completed many paying surveys, and my account has not been credited! I have not heard of this happening to anyone else. How much will I get paid? Yougov is slightly annoying in that you have ... more

Advantages Advantages User-friendly layout, points based system, topical surveys

Disadvantages Disadvantages £50 minimum withdrawal, they only issue cheques, there can be dry periods

YouGov are commonly used by Newspapers and Television broadcasters to give evidence of public opinion. They make their money through selling their collated information; you can get a small cut of this payment via a points based system. It used to be 50p - £1 payments per survey, but the new system is between 50-100 points. The surveys tend to be topical and easy to fill out. The longer the survey, the more you earn and invitation is by email. You are under no compulsion to sign up, but the more surveys you do - the quicker you can build your earnings to the threshold of £50. At the £50 mark ... more

Advantages Advantages Pays very well, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need to accumulate £50 before payment - takes ages!

Often mentioned in national newspapers for their in-depth research, YouGov to me is the best way of getting paid for doing surveys. Every other site I've been on gives you a matter of pennies for your time, but I tend to receive between 50p and £1.50 each time. It soon builds up if you keep your personal details up to date, as you then receive more surveys to complete. However, you must build your balance up to £50 before you see your reward. It is simple though, and no PayPal involved because they send you a cheque. (Just waiting on my second at the mo!) The surveys vary in length and the ... more

Advantages Advantages none unless you have time to burn

Disadvantages Disadvantages points take far to long to build up to 5000 , to many surveys for prize draws and no points

I have been a member of yougov for over a year now. I am trying to make money from home as I am not rich and a stay at home mum with little money so I went for this site. for a year now I havnt even gotten to 2000 points and done every survey they have sent me. Its tedious and boring for all the points you get and very unmotivated. In a year I havnt even earned my first £50. I get prize draw entries a lot. I feel its a bit of a waste of time but since I have come so far with them I will carry on till I get my first £50 if I can get enough surveys sent to me but I doubt it will be this year I ... more

    Advantages Advantages none

Disadvantages Disadvantages No money, no response

Slowly but surely I worked my way to the 5000 points required for payment. I clicked to redeem my points on 6th June 2010. Nothing happened, I checked the FAQs and saw that on redemption I should see a red button and then confirm my address. This did not happen, but the redemption appeared to have been activated by the minus amount shown in the points balance. Not hearing anything I began to email to check all was in order after about 2 weeks. None of my emails were answered. Yesterday, now a month after my supposed redemption I see the redemption date has been changed on screen to June 23rd ... more

Advantages Advantages good money for the time it takes to answer a survey

Disadvantages Disadvantages Surveys are very few and far between

I joined You Gov approximately 3 years ago, after being very bored one day, and deciding to do an internet search for how to earn money off answering on line surveys. I got £1 as a joining bonus, and then the idea is that You Gov email you each time they have a survey suitable for you to answer, and give you usually 2-5 days to log into your account and answer the surveys which pay between 50p and £2. Once you have answered enough to get your account up to £50 you receive a cheque for that amount. The surveys are very good on You Gov, and unlike other survey sites, they don't let you get ... more

Advantages Advantages earn for sharing your opinion,

Disadvantages Disadvantages high payout, surveys don't pay that well and that come often enough

Yougov is a market research company that rewards its members for taking part in online research. The research its memers take part in are online surveys. The difference between this and any other survey site is that the surveys revolve around the uk's political system. Yougov provides a service to mainly the uks plitical partys by asking its members questions. They want to know this as they want to know if there are any areas where they can improve. Many people get worried about sites like these, as they don't know if there legitimate sites that pay. They have a right to be worried to as there ... more
