Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router wireless router by
danny2k80
Advantages: Cheap, Easy To Use, Durable, Safe, Secure, Good Looking
Disadvantages: Requires a space near a plug socket
...and so we purchased the Belkin Modem and four adapters.
Since we bought this product we have had brilliant Internet Connectivity 24 Hours A Day with no real problems.
The adapters install easily with the requrement of just one driver and the Modem requires for only one plug to be connected to the Phone Adapter.
Each of the computers which are away from the Modem are able t pick up the house's Broadband Conenction easily and connect with no problem.

Belkin 4 port - can't cut the virtual mustard
Review of Belkin Cable/DSL Gateway Router router by
exup35
Advantages: looks, size
Disadvantages: cant handle large amounts of internet traffic/ poor backup
...need. I went for the Belkin 4 port wired router.
The unit looks quite attractive, and can stack with other belkin units as it has grooves and ridges to allow this.
At first things seemed OK, Installation was pretty quick, and I could browse the internet, chat to friends over IM programs and talk on VoIP. However once I tried to connect to an online game, the problems started. After only a couple of minutes hte router would sudenly close the connection: ... ...I later discovered that the Belkin name was not well received by most of the users who gave advice at ADSL guide. This particular router apparently could not handle the packet load required by modern applications, such as gaming, streaming etc.
I exchanged the Belkin for a similar specification and price Linksys router and had no problems.
If you just want to answer emails and do a little bit of file sharing or browse the internet then I suppose ...

Speedtouch 516v6
Review of Thomson SpeedTouch 516v6 - router by
hinton46
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Unreliable
Cab I say that I'm not a big fan of these routers! However, they are good solid performers if you want a cheap router thats fairly easy to configure. I have had problems with them when uploading templates from time to time, which has ended up completed knackering the router and I've ended up with a rather useless paperweight.
I particually find the menu layout very poor, unlike 90% of routers where u can easily find what your after with this you ...

Ideal wireless router for home networking
Review of NETGEAR DG834GT 108 Mbps Super G Wireless ADSL Router - wireless router by
pearbo
Advantages: Fast, reliable with good range
Disadvantages: poor customer support from netgear
...Only complaint would be with netgear themselves, ringing up customer support is not very helpful, if you have a problem typically the technicians seem to just read off a sheet and don't actually listen to your problems which can be frustrating.
Setup is quite simple, technically no installation cd is needed although it is provided. Contecting via a network cable first the router can be accessed through a web browser and setup quite easily. The setup ...

The perfect router for your home or small office
Review of NETGEAR DG834 ADSL Firewall Router - router by
lilnelly1983
Advantages: Multiple features, looks, simplicity
Disadvantages: Needs rebooting occasionally (but what doesn't?)
Like others have said this is a good, all round router with inbuilt ADSL modem and firewall. If you want to connect multiple computers in your house or small office, this router is something you should definetly consider. It's sleek and slim, very attractive and sits neatly on your desk or out of the way, depending on where you'd like to put it.
The lights on the front can be a bit irritating if you've got the router nearby but this isn't too bad ... ...case if you happen to find yourself working in dim light, but otherwise I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the frontal lights. They're OK!
The control panel from the router, which you can log in to via a local IP address is easy to use although I would have liked more security options and settings but you can't complain for the price.
It does need rebooting occasionally (especially if you keep the router on at all times). If you get the chance ...
