Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. ...pc shop as my other Mustek brokedown. upon opening was pleasently suprised by the design better than most scanners at this end of the market. but sadly did have some driver conflicts with Windows xp in the end tho got it to work perfectly on wifes pc running Windows ME. ...more advanced features for when you do need them. Image quality when using the platen is excellent. Previews are fast and a 1200dpi (max) scan only takes about 3-4 minutes for a 6x4 photo. It's not silent, but the noise is hardly noticeable! When scanning slides or negatives though, things are a bit hit and miss.
