HPScanjet Gh010 photo scanner
Review of HP ScanJet G4010 Photo Scanner by vancouver12

Advantages: simple instructions prints in glorious detail
Disadvantages: highlights lines, fade marks

flat bed scanners can be a joy or a nightmare when used. they can brilliantly pick out all the detail on your picture or ruin it with producing foldmarks when laid for processing. consider the use of white or black backing sheets when dealing with small pictures or 2 pictures in a group. when combining two letters into one make sure you have cut and pasted to be made 'invisable before printing'. the item is easily understood and instructions ... Great Scanner
Review of HP ScanJet G4050 Photo Scanner by dbirse

Advantages: good quality scanning
Disadvantages: software is rubbish, can take for ever to scan an image

...well so I went for HP as they are well known for good quality products. TECHNICAL INFORMATION It can scan at up to 4,800 dpi (dots per inch) It has 96 bit colour It has a 216x311mm scanning screen Connects by USB It is 303x508x108mm (wxdxh) It weighs 5.2 kg So it can give you very good quality, it gets a lot of colours, it's got a decent sized scanning screen, it's pretty big and it's not a light weight utility. There is nothing in there ...

A Near Perfect Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 by anonymili

Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so ...
...handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose whether you want them in colour or monochrome or select the image quality you want from 75, 100, 200, 250, 300 or 400 ...
