...the latest drivers from the Mustek website. A bit of a hassle but very simple to do plus they have a very straight forward set of instructions on their website as to how to do this. Other than this slight annoyance the installation is very simple as it comes with a very comprehensive instruction manual and the onscreen guide when installing is plain and simple. ...had to resort to e-mailing hp tech support. They were brilliant, and e-mailed me yet another 'patch' to sort the problem. One would have thought that as these problems were obviously well known, then the software cd needs updating. That said , the scanner is fantastic value for money and more than satisfies my needs. The Mustek ScanExpress 1248 UB scanner is very old now and due to its age it has become very cheap. Overall I think that the Mustek 1248UB is a very good scanner as I have one, and I have to say that it has been very reliable for the 3 years I have had it. ...more advanced features for when you do need them. Image quality when using the platen is excellent. Previews are fast and a 1200dpi (max) scan only takes about 3-4 minutes for a 6x4 photo.
