Not at all negative about this scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan 2700F by pauljm

Advantages: Handles 35mm negatives, slides and APS
Disadvantages: SCSI interface may be a problem for some

...hence my purchase of a Canon CanoScan 2700F (you knew I’d get there eventually). The Basics ~~~~~~~~ The 2700F is a 35mm film scanner. It will handle negative strips, APS cartridges (if anyone uses APS!) and mounted transparencies (slides). There are two main advantages to scanning the negatives rather than prints; firstly, and most importantly, you are using the original image source so you have the chance to get as much information there is, ...
...it. Software ~~~~~~~ Canon supplies CanoCraft software driver for Windows versions 95 to XP and NT4/2000. If you don’t have the latest version it can be downloaded from the Canon website. For Mac users Canon supply an Adobe PhotoShop plugin. In Use ~~~~~ The way of working depends on the media being scanned. Slides require no adapter and simply slip into the slot in the front of the scanner. APS film cartridges are loaded using the special ... Read review

Good scanner, Need to be a techie really...
Review of Canon CanoScan FB1200S by Ashl2708

Advantages: Good Picture Quality, Quite Fast, High Resolution
Disadvantages: SCSI so complicated for non Techies, Can't get Negative Scanner to function on XP

I have owned this scanner a few years now and have used it regularly and found it very good and it produces good quality images and has a high enough resolution to satisfy most people. It is quite easy to setup if you have previous knowledge of SCSI but if you have little you may struggle. Once the Scangear software is installed that will cater for most of your scanning needs, although in setting up you need to setup pictures to be saved as JPG ...
...aquire if you ever want to select a certain area of a program to select. Apart from that it is very usable. Being SCSI another thing that may irritate people is the need for the scanner to be on at startup and this may irritate those who are familiar with USB a large amount. The images taken have a high level of colour and the scanner also functions well on text. If the text is black on white you should use texted enhanced but if it is any other ... Read review

A Near Perfect Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 by anonymili

Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so ...
...handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose whether you want them in colour or monochrome or select the image quality you want from 75, 100, 200, 250, 300 or 400 ...
