Canoscan LiDE 90
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 90 by Technomole

Advantages: Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice.
Disadvantages: Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load.

If you need a Sleek, High Quality and Affordable scanner, Look no further. It is so simple, Put the document in, press scan, DONE!!! I paid £50 for my scanner, the image quality is spectacular. The Pros are; Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice. The Cons are; Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load. Another Pro is that it is small and light, which means, that if the lid falls while you are loading documents, ... Read review

On a budget and got slides or negatives to scan?
Review of Canon CanoScan 4400F by imagia

Advantages: Good value for money, excellent all rounder, advanced features
Disadvantages: No power indicator or on/off switch, poor adpator design and build

...the updated drivers off the Canon site, so no need to worry! I've now scanned negative film, slides and colour prints, and I've tweaked the settings to get some superb results even from faded or scratched source materials. The ScanGear program includes a number or excellent filters like backlight correction and noise reduction. These are very useful as the processed image needs less work once you get it in your editor. For everyday scanning you ...
...more advanced features for when you do need them. Image quality when using the platen is excellent. Previews are fast and a 1200dpi (max) scan only takes about 3-4 minutes for a 6x4 photo. It's not silent, but the noise is hardly noticeable! When scanning slides or negatives though, things are a bit hit and miss. You can fit 4 slides into the special adaptor and they fit in quite snugly. Sometimes when you insert the adaptor back into the scan cover ... Read review

Canon Canoscan Lide 60
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 by alunhunt

Advantages: Compact, looks good and good scan quality
Disadvantages: None yet found

Recently bought and installed this scanner as a replacement for an old parallel port scanner on an Windows 98 system. The scanner comes well packaged with a stand, USB cable, multi langauge instructions and a installation CD. The packaging was easy to remove with no hidden bits and bobs to remove. Visually the scanner is easy on the eye in silver and black. The scanner comes with a stand so that it can be stored and used in the upright position, ...
...bugbear with flatbed scanners.) However at present it remains difficult to use in the upright position and I now only use this for storage. Installation was easy - simple instructions, one CD and a flawless install process. Remember to install the software before plugging in the scanner. The installation software contains the usual set of utilities including picture manipulation and OCR. I have not used these as I have my own favourites for these ... Read review

CanoScan Lide 70 - good stuff
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 70 by mandarin

Advantages: small size, one button operation, no power supply needed
Disadvantages: some supplied software a bit dated

...machine. I'd seen an earlier Canon and was impressed by the size and functions offered so bought the latest model. Very easy to set up, just run the cd and choose the full install. When it's all done restart machine and plug in the scanner. Some of the software has since been removed as not really useful or duplicated what I already had but without doubt the best bit is the push button operation for copy, print, send by email or make a pdf. The ...
