Review of Acer AcerScan 620P by console

Advantages: Beautiful print quality scans-Extremely easy to use software. Quick copy utility. Extremely easy installation and setup of software.
Disadvantages: Scanner is exceptionaly large,

When scanning 35mm photos I don't think any scanner can exceed the quality of the Acer. If you're scanning for web pictures then a 300dpi resolution is more than adaquate for a quality picture and the scan time is very short. If you want to scan at a higher resolution for prints this option is available, along with different scaling settings, and a multitude of other settings. All of which are easy to understand and work exceptionaly well. For pictures ...
...that it can be purchased on Ubid.com. Most bids on it don't exceed £40 and with shipping the total cost was £60. Then there's a £10 rebate, There is an OCR Utility with the unit, maybe someone else can shed some light on this as I don't use it. It was purchased mainly for scanning pictures and copying text (unchanged). Another software came with the scanner--Ulead's Photo Express Version 2.0. Review of Agfa SnapScan 1212p by Bryn_Pearson

Advantages: so easy to use
Disadvantages: my first one was broken on arrival

The AGFA scanner was recommended to me - it isn't too expensive (about thrity pounds, depending on whom you buy it from) it is easy to use, and it plugs in in such a way that you can run your printer at the same time. Now, I've not had a scanner before, so I knew nothing about the possibility of having to unplug and plug it in, and do the same with the printer - I gather this is not unusual. I woudl recomend this product for anyoen new to this sort of thing, and for anyone who doesn't want to do anything outrageously complucated.
