HP Scanjet 2400
Review of HP ScanJet 2400 Digital Flatbed Scanner by
roneoron
Advantages: Excellent value for money. Loads of applications
Disadvantages: Install not easy with newer versions of XP
...had to resort to e-mailing hp tech support. They were brilliant, and e-mailed me yet another 'patch' to sort the problem. One would have thought that as these problems were obviously well known, then the software cd needs updating. That said , the scanner is fantastic value for money and more than satisfies my needs. I especially like the 'copy' button which scans straight to the printer. Brilliant for my wife's knitting patterns! ...

All Around Scanner
Review of HP PhotoSmart S20 by
mlheintz
Advantages: Quality, USB connectivity
Disadvantages: No APS Adapter
The HP S20 Scanner is a good all-around scanner. The S20 can scan prints upto 5x7 inches, 35mm negatives (in strips), and 35mm slides (mounted or in strips). It provides upto 2400dpi scans of film strips which equates to over 6 mega-pixels. Prints are scanned at upto 300 dpi. The S20 also uses 36bit colour for outstanding reproduction.
I was looking into digital cameras, but I found that I could always tell a digital from a standard print. Additionally, ... ...I decided on the HP for several reasons.
First, the HP scans both prints and films. I have a flatbed scanner as well, but I like to ability to get a quick scan of a print on the HP.
Second, the HP was at the time the only film scanner to offer a USB connection. I wanted to connect it to both my laptop and my desktop PCs, so this was a big bonus.
Finally, the HP was less expensive that the other models I looked at.
As far as quality is concerned, ...

Review of HP ScanJet 2100C by
xadelex
Advantages: Quick, easy installation
Disadvantages: Takes a while for the lamp to warm up
This flatbed colour scanner came part of a package deal with my computer 5 years ago and i have never had a single problem with it. Its quick and easy to use, it comes with simple installation detalis that even i could follow! Its very simple and plain but works fantastically. Its about normal size for a scanner with its dimensions being (w*d*h) 25.7cm*42cm*5.6cm. It is very light to carry at 1.85kg so it can be placed anywhere. I have found that ... ...one sheet of paper and the quality is just as great! The resolution is quite high compared to other scanners at 600*600 dots per inch. Its got 36 bit colour. It scans a colour page in a reseanable time of 50 seconds but this will turn out to be longer as the lamp takes about 2-3 minutes to warm up. The requirements of this scanner are not much you just need windows older than 95 and a USB plug for it to occupy. The maximum size it can scan is an ...
