There is one problem I have found with it and that is that it can over heat. To make it over heat you have leave it on for three or four hours. We have had out Microtek Scanmaker 3600 for well over 5 years now and it is still going strong and doing the job for our entire family. For this price you not only get the scanner but installation software plus Adobd Photo Deluxe, Ulead photo impact 5 and OCR software. Setting it up is pretty straightforward but the installation guide tells you to put the installation CD Rom in and then connect the scanner after the software has been installed. ...

Anyway once it is up and running its very simple to use, you can even go into advanced mode for a challenge. Its got a USB interface so it wont work with windows 95 and it does like a lot of ram.
