My old UMAX died on me and it was a great scanner. I decided to stay with UMAX, so i bought the Umax Astra 2000P, because I thought the quality would be the same as my first scanner. but i was WRONG. They added more useless bells and whistles and made the actual scanning process take twice as long, but the scans weren't any better. ...should have never gone with UMAX again. The first scanner although it made nice scans, also screwed up my computer's POST I kept aborting start ups for weeks. It took forever to find out that it was a patch file that was needed from the UMAX download site. Why didn't UMAX contact me if they knew this was a problem?
