A Helping Hand In The Kitchen
Review of Russell Hobbs 3501 Round Steamer by
danny2k80
Advantages: Easy to Store, Multiple foods being cooked at once and fairly cheap
Disadvantages: Base can not be disconnected from plug
My father recently purchased this steamer for use at tea times as i have a large family.
From the first dy it has made making tea a much easier task as several different vegetables have been able to be cooked simultaneously and not in several pans like before.
The different tiersseperate and can be easily stored in or atop a cupboard or even in the original box in which it was purchased.
The only problem i have with the product is the cleaning ...

Value for money steamer with durable baskets
Review of Morphy Richards 48755 by
starbaby19
Advantages: durable baskets
Disadvantages: water collector not as big as other models
...quickyly. This model from Morphy Richards has been brilliant. it is black and chrome and therefore fits in with my other small appliances in the kitchen. The baskets are very strong and durable and all fit in side each other and therefore don't take up too much space. I have a proper timer on this model which is great as with the aquatimer I had to guess most of the time how long the vegetables had been cooking for. So far I have been very impressed ... ...old model with veg being cooked to perfection. I have yet to try cooking fish but I am sure that will be just as good. The other excellent thing is that this is so easy to clean as all of the parts just go straight into the dishwasher. This was the feature that impressed me most and I can't see these baskets breaking as quick as the Tefal model as the base of the baskets is one solid peace. The only downside to this product is that the water collector ...

Russell Hobbs-You are what you eat-digital steamer
Review of Russell Hobbs 12711 by
km25
Advantages: Good value for money, good options, easy to use, easily storable
Disadvantages: Basket layers are not strong and falls of easily....
Recently there was an offer on Rusell Hobbs - You are what you eat digital steamer (AS seen on TV) on offer at Sainsburys. I bought it for around 18 pounds. I saw a similar offer on tesco direct webpage but realised that it was not digital so chose the Sainsburys one.
It's a three tier- digital steamer with oval baskets that has detachable layers. The baskets are numbered and can be stacked in reverse order to save space. It came with a rice bowl ... ...the electronic timer delay function. I have not tried the timer delay yet.
The cooking time can be increased or decreased by 5 minutes by pressing the +/- buttons. The steamer keeps the food warm after the completion of cooking. The externally visible waterlevel indicator is very useful. There seems to be auto cut off if the steamer runs out of water during the cooking process however filling the water upto max lets it steam for 45 minutes without ...

I love my steamer!
Review of Tefal VC101215 by
anne106
Advantages: Quick, easy, economical and easy to clean.
Disadvantages: None that I have found so far.
I had been thinking about buying a steamer like this for some time, but had never got around to it. I am so glad that I did and just wish that I had done so years ago!
It is easy and quick to use and produces excellent results with minimum effort. The veg and fish I have cooked have been delicious and all the goodness is still there. The vegetables retain all their colour and they are not in the least soggy or overcooked.
I have cooked an entire ...

Morphy Richards 48715 S/Steel Oval SlowCooker 6.5L
Review of Morphy Richards 48715 by
mikenewborn
Advantages: Large Volume, 3 Temp Settings, Nice Aesthetics and Design
Disadvantages: A few stipulations regarding foods that can be cooked and how to use the cooker, although these are general to Slow Cookers and not this model alone
This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances.
The removable ceramic pot has a capacity to 6.5ltr to the brim, with a recommended working capacity of 4.5ltr, plenty big enough to feed 4-6 people. The pot is dishwasher safe and can easily be transported to the table for serving.
The cooker is of an ... ...joints of meat
The cooker has handles which don't conduct heat so the unit can be moved (for whatever reason) during cooking without burning yourself.
The lid is made from toughened glass, so you can monitor the food during cooking.
The reason I bought a slow cooker was so I could make some tasty meals, with little to no effort, and not have to hover around the hob for ages stirring dishes. Also the fact I could put something on before work, then ...
