Sydney Hotels

Advantages: Good location, good service & helpful staff
Disadvantages: Poor after service

We stayed in the Shangri La for 2 weeks in April 2006. I travelled with my family and we shared 2 rooms looking over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Advantages: Clean, excellent service, near to city centre.
Disadvantages: Near very noisy pub, not a great view from apartment.

...other minor fault with the Meriton is we were in a one bedroom apartment but they had placed the beds so that you couldn't close the bedroom door. The location of the hotel was in the centre of the shopping district and to get to the major attractions of Sydney it was a 20-40 minute walk. Advantages: Close to Central Station and within walking distance of most attractions.
Disadvantages: No views.

My husband and I recently spent four days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at how near the hotel is to Central Station. There is no need to get a taxi, it took 5 minutes to walk. The hotel is in an old listed building, which is decorated in the Art Deco style. Our room was quite small but was clean and had everything you would expect from a four star hotel. The only downside was that we did not have a view, but this didn't really bother ...

...said, it is also a Best Western Hotel. Our room was small, but very comfortable and kame with a full-size fridge, microwave, kettle, sink and crockery. Tea and coffee making facilities were refreshed every day and the sheets were always very clean. The shower was excellent also. ...do you get at the Harbourside Apartments? Well, there are studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom flats to choose from. All the 2-bedroom flats have views over the harbour - and the higher the floor you are on, the better the view (from memory, I think there are about 14 floors).
