Breville TT68c
Review of Breville TT68 by
kindlyraccoon
Advantages: No need to stand and watch, will eject when ready
Disadvantages: None as yet
...When you look at this Breville TT68 you emmediatly see the build quality is there. Before its pluged in you will see that the sides are covered with a clear plastic that is actually Pollycarbonate stuff. normally the silver sides collect finger prints and it looks dirty even after one use. This is easy to wash therefore looks clean all the time. When you start to use it, you will find the slots are extra long for that bread that wont fit a lot of ... ...which is a must. There is also a cancel button if you decide to cut the toasting lenth down sharply. The thing I like is the blue LED lights that tell you how much the bread has been toasted. The setting for the amount you want your bread toasted is quite good. It also has a high pop out for the bread also. Making it do the toast to your liking has to be a must for any toaster. At the moment it is doing what its paid to do but the guarantee is ok. ...

Fun and functional toaster
Review of Breville PT15 by
fmml
Advantages: The countdown lights!
Disadvantages: Not particularly fast; occasionally doesn't go on properly.
This toaster is a good buy - it is reliable, widely available and cheap. Of course, you also want it to be good at toasting stuff, and as far as I am concerned, it works just fine.
The previous toaster we had where there were two slots like this, one behind the other, was really annoying, because the side of the bread nearest the centre got really well done, while the far away side would hardly get toasted at all (because, obviously, there were ... ...one on the outside, and the insulation in the central bit wasn't effective). However, I am pleased to report that this toaster doesn't do this (or at least, not to any great degree - sometimes the toasting is very slightly uneven, but nothing that you can't live with.)
The gimmick of this toaster is that it has little countdown lights which show you how the toasting is progressing. Sounds a bit unnecessary, I know, but once you have it you won't ...

Haden 2 slice toaster
Review of Haden 13483 by
anne106
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Doesn't toast the whole slice unless you turn it upside down.
I have one of these toasters and also bought one for a friend whose toaster had recently given up the ghost....or should that be given up on toast!!
It is quite attractive to look at and for the price I paid (£5 each in an on-line sale), excellent value for money.
It is easy to operate and is fairly quick. It also has a cancel button, which is a handy feature.
It has 2 toasting slots and a bun warmer button and rack, along with browning control, ... ...removes for easy emptying and the electric cable wraps round clips fitted in the base and the plug clips into a small recess at the side, so it can be stored neatly.
Instruction book, which is clear and concise and 1 year guarantee included.
My only criticism is that it is a bit shallow, so doesn't toast the top of bread slices. I overcome this by toasting bread lightly upside down first and then turning it round so that the rest of the slice toasts. ...

Its a kinda magic
Review of Dualit 60146 by
bunchyking
Advantages: Toasts bread
Disadvantages: If not on it doesnt
We've had the same dualit toaster now for about 17 YEARS and its still going good. There aren't many out there that last that long.
What makes this toaster different is that if an element breaks either by metal fatigue or whilst trying to pry out an oversize piece of bread you can easily replace it by just undoing a few screws ( obviously remember to disconnect it from the electricity supply first) and minutes later you can have your toast. When ... ...aren't that difficult - but Dualit have gone one further by using bold controls. The timer is easy to read and has an indicator for the 'perfect' slice ( I usually put it just above this - just to make sure) - once it reaches 0 the toaster switches off but stays in the slots, where it will be kept warm by the cooling elements. Again most toasters eject their objects where they cool a lot quicker. Ejection of the toast is accompanied by a lever at ...

Toaster
Review of Dualit 25002 by
cutelicking
Advantages: Makes DAMN GOOD TOAST
Disadvantages: if your an idiot you burn it
I always wanted a Dualit toaster, ever since I saw them first in Canada in 1999 priced $399! I bought one for my sister for her birthday last year, and she kindly returned the favour and bought me one for Christmas. I have the 2 slot combi, no bells or whistles, in pillar box red (not a colour I would have chosen myself, but it looks fab in my kitchen and all my friends are obviously jealous!). What can I say. This is the KING of toasters. Used by ... ...nice warm toast every time.
Dualit toasters come in a range of colours, you can even get a Union Jack one if you are a bit patriotic. Recently they have started selling special edition Dualit Marmite branded toasters. I can't explain why, but the toast from this toaster tastes soooo much better than with other toasters. This is probably becuase initially these machines were destined for the commercial rather than domestic market. According to my ...
