Advantages: amazing cleaning power, easy to empty
Disadvantages: a bit awkward to steer until you get used to it

I've never had a Dyson before but so many friends have said they were good so I decided to invest! It's easy to use and has great suction - I can't believe how much more dirt it picks up compared to my old vacuum cleaner. So easy to empty as well, just hold over a bin, press a button and the bottom opens and all the dirt tips out! Can be a bit dusty though! But much less messy that my old "bag" cleaner. Disadvantages: Very very heavy & difficult to manouvre. So heavy I can't use it!

I bought the new Vax Mach 7 over the weekend and unfortunately it is going back to the shop shortly. In terms of suction and accessories, it is brilliant - picks up all the dirt and dust and the hose suction is fantastic for corners, skirting boards etc. HOWEVER, it is so heavy and difficult to manoevre that I simply cannot use it. ...me. I phoned the Vax helpline and the lady told me it was an extremely heavy machine and as it's hurt my back I can take it back as it's not fit for the purpose for which I bought it.
