Bassett's Soft and Chewy multivitamins
Review of Bassets Jelly Babies Soft & Chewy Vitamins by
naughtyangel69
Advantages: good taste, beneficial for general health
Disadvantages: only one size pack available
I bought Bassett's soft and chewy multivitamins as I struggle to take pills at the best of times.
I tried the blackcurrant flavour but they also come in strawberry and orange so there is a variety to suit all tastes. They do taste just like the majority of blackcurrant cordials, so I have no complaints with the taste at all. They are chewy, like a sweet. They are small in size (about a 5p coin in diameter, although thicker) and take only a minute ... ...leave no aftertaste when eaten.
The box is a pack of 30, so enough to last a month if just for one person, and cost £1.34 in Morrisons, although I have seen them for as much as £1.99, so you need to pick where you buy them. They are not suitable for vegetarians due to the gelatine in them.
They contain vitamins A, D, E, C, B2 (riboflavin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyrodoxine HCI), B12 (cyanocobalamin) and Folic Acid.
I cannot pretend to know ...

Kalms - feeling calmer now?
Review of Kalms by
lucyriley1
Advantages: Worked for me, helped me to concentrate more, took away the feeling of anxiety
Disadvantages: Not sure whether they work more on a psychological level, quite expensive
I decided to try taking Kalms tablets, as I was doing a teacher training course, and feeling very stressed about it. I wasn't sleeping properly and I was really nervous at school.
During my time at school I had to be observed about 3 times a week by the headteacher, which I found really stressful. A friend of mine recommended taking Kalms, as she had used them and said they were really good, and did help.
I bought the Kalms from a chemist, but ... ...and starins of modern living. Kalms tablets help promote natural sleep, and can also bring relief to symptoms associated with the menopause including wakefulness, flushings and cold sweats.'
As it is a natural remedy, I was very doubtful that they would work, but I was willing to try anything. I bought a bottle with 100 tablets in, but you can also buy bigger bottles. I am not sure what I paid for the bottle, but I can remember at the time thinking ...

Do they kalm you down?
Review of Kalms by
faders321
Advantages: Cheap and quick to kick in
Disadvantages: Sometimes they don't work, wear off fast
I tried kalms about a year ago because I was going through a very stressful time which was preventing me from being able to sleep properly at night. I needed to be able to get a good nights sleep so that I could get on with my daily life, this meant that I needed to relax a bit more. I went searching on the internet for something that could help and came across a page about these, it said that they were a good way of taking the edge off of your stress. ... ...to buy some because they are completely natural, no nasty drugs so they're not harmful to your body and they are not at all addictive. The only things they contain are:
Hops Powder 45mg, Extract of Valerian from 135mg, Extract of Gentian from 90mg
I bought a bottle of 100 tablets from Tesco for just £1.84 which I think is quite cheap for such a well known brand. You can find them for a similar price in most shops as they are very popular. Or you ...

Don't fancy chocolate??!!
Review of Piccollinate Chromium by
blueberrypies
Advantages: Working well for me so far
Disadvantages: Little 'evidence', unlikely to work for everyone
As someone who as long battled sugar craving I have tried many so called 'alternative' treatments in the past - apple cider vinegar, gallons of green tea, you name it really. I read about this product and decided to gbe it a go, it was very reasonably priced and I had heard good things about it on other reviews.
Well I have to say I am so far very impressed. I take 300mcg (chromium polynicotinate) a day and have not craved sweet things since. This ... ...my daily hot chocolate in favour of something less sweet like tea. I just don't fancy anything sweet at all!
The scientist in me knows that there could be other factors influencing this, but honestly it just not like me not to want to eat chocolate all day every day.
My advice would be to give it a go, its not expensive and from what I have read about it not harmful either (unless you take far far more than recommended). Of course it won't work ...

Did not help with weight loss
Review of Doctors Best 5-HTP by
LJJames
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: expensive, not effective, can vary from person to person
One of the health claims is that is can help with weight loss. I can confirm that 5HPT does not have any influence on weight loss. Well, not with me anyway. I took it for about 2-3 months and didn't notice any effects. You generally take it a few times a day, but it depends on the strength as they come in a variety. The results may vary person to person though but I personally wouldn't buy it again or recommend it.
I'm not sure if you're supposed ... ...maybe even do exercise or eat sensibly. But, if you did those things, you'd probably start losing weight anyway! It may also help you settle into a regular sleep pattern, which I would've also benefited from, but I can't say I noticed much difference there either.
I'm sure there are better supplements for weight loss out there but 5HTP does have other health claims. Price can vary a lot according to where you buy it from - as with most supplements.
