I started using NOCHEX about 2 years ago as PayPal were robbing me blind (i.e.) the charges.
For those of you who don’t know who NOCHEX are they are one of the biggest internet payment engines in the world. They offer the same options as PayPal (See my last review) but cheaper charges for honey handling.
-----REGISTRATION-----
The registration is as easy as PayPal. If you want to receive payments through NOCHEX you would need to register with them. Normally you would need to sign up if you were to send a payment to another e-mail address. Now you don’t it makes life easier you just click on the "QUICKSEND" button from the signup tab and then you are away. If you feel that you are going to need NOCHEX for the future I recommend using the FREE account signup. That means whenever you want you can receive payments, you just sign in with your username and password and proceed to doing your business.
-----SHOP-----
NOCHEX have their own online shop on the website. Unlike PayPal these shops online
accept NOCHEX payments and is more easier to use if you don’t have a PayPal account. Just type in the words you want to find into the search box and then you just have to click on the search button. At this point the website is looking for the subject you entered and most importantly do they accept NOCHEX? The answer is yes only people who accept NOCHEX as a business can be on the NOCHEX website.

This tab is for information on how to sell. NOCHEX offer the following features for your account: • No chargeback’s • No set up or monthly charges • Instant availability of funds • 2.6% + 20p transaction charges • Receive instant payments from Anyone with a UK credit or debit card • Easy to integrate and manage • Create a professional image.
-----AUCTIONS-----
This is my favorite tab. With the auction tab you can setup your auction details with NOCHEX. Unfortunately at this time they do not support automatic logo insertion into your eBay templates. You have to do this yourself. Its good if you know your basic HTML skills but its bad if you do not. PayPal offer a better auctions package than NOCHEX do. But what do you expect NOCHEX haven’t been running for long PayPal have been running for about 7 years now.
-----HELP-----
With the help tab you can find the help to the following areas: Canceling a payment - Brilliant if you need to cancel a payment which hasn’t already been claimed. You should very rarely use this. I only use it when I have fallen out with a customer. Change Email Address - Don’t you just hate it when you have to change your e-mail address due to the spam? Change your password here for free. It also saves the time in opening another NOCHEX account. Charges - The charges are better then PayPal. At the moment PayPal charge 3.4% + 20p. NOCHEX charge 2.6% + 20p. Why do these big companies charge the extra 20p? I really don’t know. Feedback and ratings - This is so that buyers can judge whether you are a good seller or not. Feedback and Rating is sort of like EBay. Brilliant to let your buyers and customers see how good you are. Green Room Self help - This link is dead at the moment. NOCHEX are currently in the middle of fixing it. Limits -
Standard accounts have an account balance limit of £90 at any one time. Seller accounts have no such limit.
Sending/load limits As a member of NOCHEX you can send/load £300 a day from your debit card (limited to £1000 a week). On top of that you can send any money that you receive into your NOCHEX account. Non members of NOCHEX are able to send up to £100 a day to seller accounts.
Receiving limits Seller accounts have an unlimited balance limit and as such can receive an unlimited number/total value of payments (from both non members and members of NOCHEX). Note: The send limits restrict the value of the individual transactions that can be sent (see above).
Standard accounts are limited to only receiving payments from existing NOCHEX members and are restricted to a £90 account balance at any time.
Withdrawal limits: The default withdrawal limits are £500 in any 24 hours and £1000 in any 7 day period.
Withdrawal limits and receive limits from non members can be increased subject to review. If you require either of these limits increasing then get in touch with them.
Loading Money - You have the option to load money from whichever source you feel is right. At the present time you can load money from your credit and debit card, forgetting to mention the good old bank account.
Login - With NOCHEX they are as secure as PayPal. They offer a quick service if you forget your password, you can login with your card even. Just enter the last 6 digits of your credit card and you are away.
Logos/Banners - This for people who have auctions like myself. NOCHEX offer a brilliant logo design service. All that you have to do is enter them onto your auction page. Its very easy.
Navigation - If you get one of those poxy ERROR404 pages this means you have tried to go back into the website using the back button. This is another form of security.
Other - This section is great for people who would like to know more about the company.
Password - Just the basic things if you have forgotten your password. How to change it, etc.
-----SECURITY-----
The security of this website again is issued by Verisign our good friends. As I said in my last review on PayPal you will notice that the address in your browser toolbar changes again. It changes from HTTP://www.nochex.co.uk to HTTPS://www.nochex.co.uk. The "S" stands for security.
-----CONTACTING NOCHEX-----
When I contacted NOCHEX a couple of months ago regarding an unknown payment on my statement they were very nice and pleasant to speak to. They do put you on hold which is a bit of a bore considering the music they play. They do aim to answer your call within 1 minute of you going on hold.
-----MY PERSONAL VIEW------
My personal view of NOCHEX is clear. They are better than PayPal by a long mile. NOCHEX offer a good service all round and they do not hold your money for long periods of time. NOCHEX offer more for your money (charges). They are the best. I would highly recommend this service to all people who need money on the internet.

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Excellent review, only have one little point to make is that it can only be used in UK so international customers would still have to pay via paypal, I would prefer to use nochex all the time as they are also quicker at depositing my money into my bank account than paypal is! And they tell you which day of the week it will be in your account too which paypal doesn't! :-) well written and informative review though...Michelle x

Nochex have always been cheaper than PayPal. In fact, the current rate has been increased, and they didn't charge as much before. When you say load, do you mean loan? Great, informative op - cheers. wbafcben :)

Never had to use it as I dont sell stuff very often, and paypal is usually accepted by most people! drew
Advantages: Cheaper than PayPal, No account required, Quick and easy, Safe from charge backs Disadvantages: People still choose to use PayPal, Fees used to be lower
