I was always on Vodafone and never thought i would change untill...an o2 operator phoned me and told me about the 'Genie Card' costing 10 pounds each, though at that time there was an offer of 'buy one get one free' so i bought them and give one to a friend.
What is a genie Sim Card?:
Many of you may know this by 'o2 Talk alot' ... ...free Text Messages or 75 Media Messages and 1MB of free WAP per month. You only get this by topping up your phone with 10 pounds each month.
Some people have trouble understanding this! so for example, you get you 'Genie Card' on the 13th of November, you put 10 pounds in your phone on the 13th, your tarrif thens starts from the 14th. You still get to keep your 10 pounds credit.
As long as you top your phone up 10 pounds ... more

What is a genie Sim Card?:
Many of you may know this by 'o2 Talk alot' . The Genie tarrif consists of 300 free Text Messages or 75 Media Messages and 1MB of free WAP per month.
As long as you top your phone up 10 pounds each month, need it be the day after you tarrif starts or the day before it ends, as long as it is between the '13th November and the 13th of December' or what ever your date may be.
CALL CHARGES ******************:
While on this tarrif you call charges will consist of:
STANDARD CALLS
Evening (Mon-Fri) 25p for the first 3 mins/day then 5p/min for the rest of the day
Weekends 25p for the first 3 mins/day then 2p/min for the rest of the day
OTHER MOBILE NETWORKS:
Daytime (Mon-Fri) 40p
Evenings & Weekends 40p

TEXT MESSAGING: *********************
10p per text (anytime, any network, When your fee text have run out).
MEDIA MESSAGING 25p per message.
VOICEMAIL (per call) 10p
INTERNATIONAL TEXT MESSAGING 20p per message
If you do not top up within your time limit each month, you free TXT and WAP will be taken of, and your sim card will then be at the normal, standard rate.
You can purchase these in any mobile phone shop, costing 10 pound. You can also purchase them on Ebay for a little cheaper.
I would recommend puchasing from Ebay if you are buying for family or friends, as the majority when buying more than 1 sim card at a time are all the same numbers, except for the end number.
Before coming across the 'Genie Card / Talk Alot' i was easily putting 30-40 pound a week in my phone, now with this a wouldnt put anymore than 20 pound a month.
I have selected yes, i would recommend, but only to those people who text more than call, this is 110% recommended.
Advantages: 30 free texts per month Disadvantages: sometimes the web page wont let you log in.
I first joined the o2 website about 2 years ago because i was looking for a service that would enable me to send short text messages for free. I had already signed at lycos, but was not impressed with the general layout of the site and found navigating around the website was sometimes difficult. The website can be found at www.o2.co.uk I signed to o2, choosing a username, password and entering my mobile phone number. Registration did not take long, ... ...the main page of the o2 site which has all the different information about where you can go and what you can do on the website. Along the left hand column there are actions you can perform including sending text messages, Games, WAP, Media Messaging, Ringtones and Wallpaper and a lot more. Products and Services.
This section gives you all the details about the different products, tarriffs, and services provided by o2. By looking on the main page ...

Advantages: FAST, FREE AND EASY Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to access.
I don’t believe that the O2 free SMS service on its website is advertised. So this is why I am writing this review today. I will not talk about the other web site services because the previous review has done this.
O2 have provided its registered users of its website an allowance of 30 free texts messages. I think this is a great service and always comes in handy when ever I run out of credit or need to send a fast text.
The service also provides ... ...the site.
In conclusion, I really do recommend O2s service. And I can’t really complain about anything because it’s free. It’s also good for me because I am a O2 customer and the website provides a great way to get all its services in one place.

Advantages: Free 30 texts per month Disadvantages: Their pay service is POOR
im getting real sick of internet companies that make me have to check my bank account everyday because of the fear one day recieving a letter from my bank telling me that i have been cleaned out.
Thought i found a good deal with them when i ran out of free texts (30 free per month) I saw that you can buy 30 texts for £1.50, 100 for £4.50, and 500 for a score (£20)
not a bad deal if u spend alot of time in front of a vdu and keep in contact with ... ...u have a pay as u go. Anyway paid for the 100 option @ £4.50, to then find out it takes "up to 15 mins" to go through (no mention in the terms and conditions) - ok 15 mins isnt that long, 1 hour later, still not there (at least i got a confirmation note (not in e-mail form just had a ref # & a thank you - thats all)
2 hours later started searching the site for a contact number, massive site even had phone nunbers for isp's! but none for their internet ...
