Tigerairways (49% Singapore Airlines) books accommodation online via Octopustravel (no customer service or thinking human). Any problem and you are on your own. The Octopustravel booking takes 48hours for confirmation, during which time you have to wait or risk multiple credit card billing. The time delay is also a disaster if approaching peak season and the final straw, it gives false reports. Note the following:
Hotel: HOTEL81 - ORCHID, Singapore"We have contacted the hotel with the above request and they are unable to accommodate you for the dates requested. There is no charge for this service."
When I called the Hotel 81 Orchid they advised me that this was not the case and there are vacancies. Moreover they had not been contacted by Octopustravel.Octapus travel customer service Ms Alice Cheng writes:
"Regards on your booking, we do understand that we are unable to provide you with an allotment for the said nights as the number of allotments for OctopusTravel with Hotel 81 - Orchid were fully-booked."
