My daughter has sufferd with eczema since she was about 3 months old. Eczema is a skin condition which affects around 1 in 8 babies. Since being diagnosed with this condition I have used many different creams and lotions on her skin and Oilatum juniorbath formula is by far the best.
So what is Oilatumjunior bath formula? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oilatum junior bath formula has been especially designed for use by infants and children. It helps soothe away the discomfort caused by eczema and dry skin conditions. It also helps to rehydrate the skin and protect against further dryness. Oilatum is a fragrance freebath oil, which when dispersed into water leaves you with an inviting milky bath, unlike some bath oils which leave a film on the surface of the water. Oilatum also cleanses the skin so there is no need for the use of soap which is often the cause of dry skin conditions.
Whats in Oilatum junior bath formula? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The main ingredient in Oilatum is light liquid paraffin BP 63.4%w/w. It also contains Acetylated wool alcohols, Isopropyl palmitate,Macrogol 400 dilaurate and Polyoxyethylene 40 sorbitol septaoleate.
How to use Oilatum junior bath formula. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oilatum must always be used in water and never applyed directly to the skin. For use with infants you should add 1/2 to 2 capfuls to a small bath of water. Apply over the entire body using a sponge or flannel and then pat dry. For use with children you should add 1 - 3 capfuls to an 8 inch bath of water and soak for approx 10 - 20 minutes, then pat dry. As I said earlier there is no need to use soap as oilatum also cleanses. I was also told by my doctor that I do not need to use shampoo on my daughter as this will also clean her hair but I choose to use shampoo as I find Oilatum leaves the hair feeling slightly dirty without the use of shampoo. Oilatum can be used on a daily basis.
Where to get Oilatum junior bath formula from. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oilatum can be purchased from your chemist and most supermarkets. Oilatum junior bath formula comes in 2 different sizes that I have seen. 150ml costing from around £4.50 upwards and 300ml costing £7.00 upwards, prices really do vary depending on where your buying it from. Oilatum junior bath formula can also be got on prescription from your doctor, this saving you lots of pennies.

My Opinion. ~~~~~~~~~ Oilatum has really helped in keeping Kelsi's eczema under control. Since being advised by my doctor to use this product I have used it everyday without fail. It has really helped to minimise the amount of dry skin patches that kelsi had all over her body and has definately helped to reduce the amount of irritation she had as she hardly ever scratches anymore. To complement the bath formula I also use the Oilatum Junior Cream twice a day on her skin. The only downside to Oilatum is that it can leave the bath quite slippery so you really do need to be extra careful to make sure there are no accidents with your child when in the bath. I have found that when I have had a bath later in the evening after using Oilatum with Kelsi's bath that I have almost gone flying across the bathroom myself when getting out the bath, so do be extra careful when using this product.
