***UPDATE 10 DECEMBER 2001*******
That programe didn't last very long, gone to the great internet in the sky already. Maybe I'll just stick to Spedia.

********************Update Ends********************

I've been looking for a replacement for Spedia for some time, and I recently found PayBar.

The problems I've had with spedia, are that it sometimes causes my computer to crash, and for a while I didn't collect any points at all, now I can only get 5 points at a time, (after 5 minutes of surfing), any time over that does not seem to earn me any points at all. 5 points = 2.5 cents. To get any more points, I have to switch my computer off entirely, re-booting does not seem to work either. I also found that using Mailround and Spedia together causes both of them to stop working. This is not a satisfactory state of affairs.

PayBar is like Spedia in that you download a surf bar which displays adverts on the bottom of the screen, and you get paid for viewing the adverts. As far as I can see, you don't even have to click on the adverts, although I would click on them sometimes, as this is the main point of the surf bar.

Payments:- Points are earned by having the adverts displayed on the bottom of your screen, 1000 points are equal to 60 cents (U.S.) I'm not sure of the exact number of points given per hour, but it appears to be roughly between 5 and 10 cents worth (Spedia if working properly pays around 35 cents per hour).

Referrals, for direct referrals 25% of their earnings are given (up to the level you have earned ie.e if you earn 100 points then you are given a maximum of 100 points from them which is equivalent to 25 of your points). There are 3 levels of indirect referral, each paying 5%. I've managed to collect 1 direct referral so-far. In the week since I've already had 1000 points, and 220 from my referral.

Payments Their is a maximum of $9 per month allowed from your own earnings, plus more from your referrals. Payment is made via PayPal when you reach $50 for International members and $20 for U.S. members. This has changed already since I joined as International members were paid by cheque only, but has since became PayPal only.

In short it doesn't pay quite as much as Spedia, but as the PayBar seems to be more stable, I can probably earn a lot more than with Spedia. I've been with Spedia since January, and only earned $10.50 so far because of all the problems I've had with it, and am now earning around 50-60 cents a month, with PayBar I hope to earn $2-$4 a month, which will take around 1 to 2 years to reach the minimum payment, (unless I can get some more referrals).

There is some mention of paying e-mails, but I've not had time to look into that yet.
