Do not buy from PCOption

Advantages Attractive range of Media PCs
Disadvantages Appalling customer service, don't keep their promises nor refund where due
Like many Ciao users, I read the positive feedback here and thought that this was genuinely a decent business to buy a customised media PC from. Their website was knowledgeable with sensible terms and conditions and a 3-year warranty. I also used their online chat service and got comprehensive answers. So far so good.
I placed an order in mid August (and was told 7-10 days for delivery). After multiple chase calls and emails, I received it mid-October. Their staff turnover seemed horrific as you'd speak to someone on one day and they'd no longer be working there the week after. After only a few days, it had to go back as it had stopped working. I tried all they suggested and it was dead. To their credit they arranged to pick it up and returned it (after the inevitable chase) 10 days later and it has worked ok since then.
However, the media PC wouldn't play multi-region discs (which I'd specifically requested prior to order and they'd said it would) and the sound output is only 2-channel not 5.1 (which is plain daft for a media PC). I have had to buy software to allow me to play multi-region discs. And I've still had no invoice, no refund for the difference in spec from what was ordered and what was eventually supplied and I've had multiple email and telephone conversations with the owner, who continues to promise that it's just about to be sent, but has now changed his mind and said nothing is due.
I am now in correspondence with Trading Standards and my credit card company to get their help to recover what I believe I am owed.I'm afraid this is a business that doesn't keep its promises and I can't recommend it at all. I'd urge prospective purchasers to conduct their own research online as there are a number of threads detailing other similar poor experiences with PC Option. I only wish I'd read them before spending my money.

P.S: I saw your comments on a 'Desktop Option' review (same company/people)

Thank you for letting others know. These 'cheap' companies seem to make their savings by 'binning' customer service.
