I'm pretty clued up on PCs, peripherals and software & I've used PC World quite a lot. This isn't because it's the cheapest or best out there, it certainly isn't, but it does what it says on the tin, you know what you're getting.
PC World is a large chain, that means that, like McDonald's, ... Read review
Complete rubbish. Do not under any circumstances take out an extended warrenty with htis company - not worth the paper it is written on. In fact do not deal with them at all.
Taking my PC for an annual health check under this warrenty was a complete waste of time - it was returned in worse state that when it went in. And as for customer service - a complete joke.
How this disgraceful company stays in business is quite beyond my comprehension. ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: you pay for a service that they cannot offer. Couriers come when they want.
We ordered some items from PCWorld and Dixons, it came out they are the same company and they use BUSINESSPOST as a courier. We paid in total 21 pounds extra to have the two parcels in set days between 5-8pm. No one came. Finally we discovered that although the extra charge the local depot does not have an evening facility!!! Of course no one told us before, during or after the sale was confirmed and it took me 3 missed deliveries and 5 difficult ...

Along with other members, we have also suffered a bad experience with P.C World.
My sons Grandparents purchased a laptop computer for his birthday recently and not being exactly technically minded took advice from the shop staff.
After only a couple of months, the laptop suffered a problem and appeared to totally crash and my son was unable to get anything onto the screen.
It was taken back to the shop by his grandfather who was told that there ... ...the problem over the phone and to try that option first. They did this but were unble to resolve the problem despite being given instructions by the telephone advisor whom we all presume was a computer technician.
A return visit to the shop was made and they were informed that because it was a laptop, it would have to be sent away for repair and if they left it at the shop it could take several weeks before it was returned. The other option was ...

Quick review of pcworld.com
On purchasing a laptop from PCworld I was persuaded to buy pc performance on the premise the laptop would be fixed instore. This was necessary as the laptop was for my daughter at uni so time would not be wasted sending the laptop away for repair. The salesman lied, the laptop still had to be sent away. The guarantee states phone on Sunday collection on Tuesday. Another lie, it was collected on Thursday. Eventually it comes back with new hardrive but no operating system. Many phonecalls later to many different departments I'm told I can't take it to the store for repair and I must phone the tech dept at £1 per minute.
DO NOT BUY FROM PCWORLD THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. ...

I went to my local store to change an item my son had purchased for me has he was working in Spain, this was within the last month.
The service I received was disgusting and as you can imagine they said they could not exchange the item as I needed the receipt.
I ask for an exchange not a refund, and I ask for a telephone number to their customer service.
We expected an apolgy and a replacement needless to say we got either.
My son did this because we are penioners and the cost of using our landline to Spain would be costly. ...
