PETS IN HELL
Advantages NONE
Disadvantages Over-rated, rip off prices, poor quality animals, birds, fish and rubbish service!!
Pets at Home is just another massive chain store with just wanting money. Personally i think they don't even care about the animals and just see them as another product on the shelf. As a breeder of parrots, parakeets and various other finches i can see that the birds at pets at home are poor quality, ill, in over crowded cages and very very over priced.
The birds sit there in cramp smelly cages, with no room to fly, no bathes, not enough perching space and kept and fed by un knowledgeable pets at home staff. They are not even fed on the suitable diets with any fresh fruit and vegetable and even in some cages there is no FRESH clean water.Pets at home sell cheap wild caught birds to un-experienced pet owners. The birds are stressed and not tame after being shipped half way around the world from the jungle to someone's small cage in a living room. Once the owner learns the bird isn't `cuggly` tame and isn't `part of the family` they are then left in the cage for the rest of there life's which is up to 60 years with some parrots.
The birds pets at home sell are only suitable for aviary homes as they are just not tame enough to be suitable for caged life.To conclude this i think any potential bird keepers should buy only hand reared, TAME, British bred birds (look for birds with leg rings) from bird breeders who are in it for the hobby and not just the money like pets at home.
As for the website half of the info isnt true and is miss leading pet owners.

I would only buy pets from reputable independant pet shops or breeders, never a chain store. They do seem a little pricy so are best avoided.
