Advantages I am struggling to find any!

Disadvantages Slow delivery, no English instructions, very poor customer service

I am a regular online shopper and often search out bargains on line using search engines like pricerunner.com which is how I came across a great deal for a Canon CX6600 on pixmania.co.uk. It came up nearly £10 cheaper than Amazon and promised a rapid delivery.
The site itself was quick to load, well laid out and well labeled with a phone number on every page and a Frequently asked questions page which covered all aspects of the buying and returns process.
There are regular offers which are changed frequently.
Placing an order was simple and secure using a credit card, although you can order over the phone as well. I was promised delivery in the next week via Parcelforce (this was August 15).
After nothing appeared in a week I called Pixmania and after a considerable period of time on hold was told my parcel was on route and directed to the order tracking section of the site. After checking this and finding no details of the Parcelforce delivery, I called them direct, only to be told they had no record of it. Back to Pixmania, who said they were having delivery problems at their warehouse.
I don't want to bore you so I won't describe the hours on hold or every email I sent. But one big complaint is the fact you cannot email customer services direct, you have to go through the questions section, which does take far longer than it should.
Anyway alarm bells started ringing when after three weeks I called only to be told my delivery had disappeared and did I want to cancel my order (Now I ask myself why oh why I didn't say yes!!). I was told it would be dispatched via DHL the next day as a priority and postage costs would be waved.
After a week it still hadn't turned up, so I finally cancelled my order and went off on holiday. Two weeks later I returned to delivery notes from Parcelforce and DHL, who both turned up the next day with the printers.
Now comes the worst bit - I unpacked the first printer only to find it came with all the instructions in French and a European power cable. Both printers were the same - and while it works perfectly I had to buy a £20 installation CD and instruction book from Epson, who say they are contacted frequently by pixmania customers with the same problem.
I had to arrange collection of the second printer and after 8 weeks of faffing around have just got confirmation of a refund of the £20 I paid for the order from Epson.
Why didn't I pay the extra tenner to Amazon!
In conclusion, the experience I had was probably a worse case scenario, but it highlighted the need for clear information about products on the site (they are items destined for the European market which pix mania sell in the UK). It also showed how poor their customer service function was.
Even now that everything has been resolved I would never ever use that site again for anything!!!

    1) Sent me the wrong item and expected me to pay for its return. Not a chance made them collect it 2) Reached Parcel Force national hub the same day it was collected, however, pixmania don't take these single item returns Parcel Force have to wait for a pallet load before they are allowed to ship. Mine took a month. 3)Customer service a waste of time 4) After sales service a joke. 5) Took from 30th September (date of collection), to 16th December to get a refund. 6) Bombarderd them with e-mails from the "Write Us" link on the after sales service page, by using every question to send at least one e-mail regardless of whether it applied to my question or not. 7) make sure you copy and paste the text of your e-mails into a word document and save them in case you need to register a dispute with your credit card company. (after 30 days). 8) Couldn't agree more with mikes review. 9) DONT BUY FROM PIXMANIA AND YOU WONT NEED TO REMEMBER ANY OF THE ABOVE! 10) Don't be tempted by what seems to be cheap prices you will regret it later. Pay the extra couple of quid and buy British. You will ber glad you did.

I found a TV card there. Cheaper than anywhere else....BUT I remembered reading negative reviews on this place before so thought I'd read a few more reviews. Seems they still suck. Guess I'll pay the £5.00 extra and buy it at the other place I saw it.
