Finally - a film site with a sense of humour that doesn't take itself, and those Hollywood icons, too seriously. Perhaps the best thing about Popcorn, hwoever, are the excellent competitions, with everything from holidays to t-shirts on offer on a very regular basis. If I do have one gripe about this site (and it's not a very big one) is that it very rarely says when a film's a real turkey - perhaps they're too beholden to the movie makers for that? I first visited this website via a link to one of their competitions. When I had an email to say I'd won a pair of cinema tickets, I went back to see what we could use them for. I was still there half an hour later, and have bookmarked it for future reference. This is an exceptionally well organised site, aimed at those who want to know whats on now and due out in the next few weeks. Maybe they could change the design to get more text on the screen, but it's not bad. A really usefull site, with all the latest movie reviews, interviews with the stars and details of upcoming releases. The most useful thing about this site though is its movie database. Type in your postcode and it will tell you details of what's on near you, as well as details of far away the various cinemas are. You can then look at reviews for all the relevant films - these tend to be fairly in depth and quite reliable, and they include a readers rating as well (one to five stars) so you can compare this with the official review. This is the site I always go to for checking out what new movies are out, reviews, trailers, etc. mainly because the name is really easy to remember. Generally most information are available, new movies, charts, which cinemas are showing what, finding out which cinema is showing the film you want to watch, competitions, games, etc. To say the truth, it's plainly a one stop shop for movie news. However, it the server is slightly unstable and on occasions, you will find it being excessively slow or just stalls. Popcorn has the news on all the good films out and those that aren't any good as well! It has an excellent selection of regularly updated competitions, with some really, really cool prizes. It is the best site to go to for finding any film trivia info, by using the pretty fast and usually efficient search engine.
