i am trying to understand if it is a socket 939 or am2

i am confused a little by the form that these cannot fit both motherboards or do they as i have a socket 939 and currently using a amd 4000+ but am thinking about upgrading to a dual core processor.

but from reading in the description it says socket am2 and socket 939 can you verify that this chip would work on my board.

Answer this question

It doesn't matter what processor or motherboard you have as long as the sockets of both the motherboard and processor are same. Your processor only supports the socket 939. So it does not matter how many core there are in a processor as long as the processor and motherboard sockets are same you are free to upgrade to any processor.
