Sam Baker is female. She's the editor of Red Magazine and has also written The Stepmtohers' Support Group, and is on Twitter. I haven't yet read this book but would like to, but "would you recommend this" doesn't allow me to leave that blank, even though the question clearly doesn't require me to have read the book.

sam baker is the produce manager so i think sam baker is a male so any girl cannot keep her name as a sam baker so baker is means it is representing male so thank you

Its one of them names that can go either way. Sam Baker is what is referred to as a "weekend novelist", meaning she has another job in the week. Sam has been worked for a number of womens magazines including New Woman and Chat. She is currently Editor of Red magazine. All publications I am unfamiliar with!!! she's female - it's a book about 4 female friends essentially and the aftermath after Sam dies (not a spoiler as you know from the first page of the book) and leaves her most precious things to her friends. hth
