Do Lidl's W5 Limescale Tablets work effectively if put directly in the drum of a frontloader?

The Lidl Adritt Limescale Tablets have now since been replaced by Lidl's W5 Limescale Tablets which are a different shape and thicker, but still 51 per box. The problem is that they hardly dissolve in the dispenser tray and are more or less still there when the wash is finished (the Adritt always used to completely dissolve). Do they work effectively if put directly in the drum of a frontloader? Main wash obviously only!
