where I can get technical advice on a 10yr old system

The LSD33CD has been a superb machine during the past decade.I am loathe to change it as the radio is still functioning well.
However the CD player is having silent moments during the playing of recordings & on one track is mute throughout.
We have tried the CD cleaner but still no luck.
Lastly the CD switch button does not slide all the way to the left & never has done.Can that also be having a detrimental effect?
