Activation of the remote control?

I bought a new Sony RM EA002 Infrared Remote control for TV and not able to activate. My TV does not recognize it. Is there any activation procedure?

No, you probably got the wrong remote for the TV, that happened to me too some times. I used to own a panasonic TV, but now I got a sony. The remote for the panasonic doesn't work on the sony TV, you probably got the wrong remote and therefor it doesn't respond to the TV and the other way around. You should get another remote control to fix this problem and make sure that it works on your TV set, the way it is intended to be used.
