Advantages: A good free e-mail provider, some earnings go to charity Disadvantages: Attaches footer and banner ads to your message
When I first visited this site I thought to myself what a strange name for a “free e-mail service provider”. Purple Turtle is not a name you would tend to forget.
When you first access the site one thing that will strike you immediately is the colour purple. Its just about everywhere on the page. It’s a bit sore on the eyes too.
What they offer is a free e-mail service much like Hotmail, Yahoo etc. ...if you sign up for the “Premium Features” then whatever money is received from these payments, 25% of this amount will go to charities related to conservation of animals, plants and the likes.
Standard features offered by their free e-mail service include:
1) Spellchecker – This uses the English Dictionary version. (Finally a spellchecker that doesn’t use the American vocabulary)
2) 5 MB ... more
When I first visited this site I thought to myself what a strange name for a “free e-mail service provider”.
The difference with this site is that if you sign up for the “Premium Features” then whatever money is received from these payments, 25% of this amount will go to charities related to conservation of animals, plants and the likes.
Standard features offered by their free e-mail service include:
1) Spellchecker – This uses the English Dictionary version. (Finally a spellchecker that doesn’t use the American vocabulary) 2) 5 MB of storage space. This is not bad and as is in line with others and more than Hotmail. 3) Ability to access multiple POP3 mail
One possible disadvantage is that on every e-mail that you send, a small message and banner ad is attached at the top and bottom of each mail. This is related to conservation of animals etc. I personally do not find this to be a problem since its all for a good cause.
Getting back to the “Premium” features. These are as follows:
1) Extra Storage Space – You can get an additional 10 MB storage space for a one time lifelong payment of 10. 2) If you want to access your Purple Turtle mail from your POP3 account then this is available for a charge of 5 per year. 3) You can have the Footer and Banner messages removed from your mail. You can also add your own signature. This is available for a fee of 5 per year.
Please remember that all payment received for the “Premium” features, 25% will go to Charity. This is what makes this site different from the others.
So why don’t you join Purple Turtle and select one or two of the premium features and you will be doing yourself and others some good at the same time.
Unfortunately at this time registration is impossible and the following message has been left:

Advantages: Free, good design, gives to charity (a percentage of their profits go to a turtle charity), fast, reliable Disadvantages: Every email has one of their ads on it, some features cost money, no support for WAP
I joined purpleturtle about a month ago, and it beats Hotmail, Lineone Webmail, Freeserve Webmail, Another.com Webmail, Yahoomail, Talk21, Plusnet Webmail etc. hands down. I have tried tens, if not hundreds, of different free webmail services and this is easily the best, but why? -Fast. Pages seem to load quicker than with any other email service, emails are sent and received almost instantly; with no delays. -Attractive/Image. The site is a work ... ...It is such a welcome break from the horrible Hotmail and Yahoomail layouts and colours! -Features. You can collect mail from unlimited POP3 addresses at a click of an icon (easier than any other email providers). You can have unlimited folders, and fowarding will foward mail to particular folders automatically. You can also have unlimited aliases, eg. whatever@purpleturtle.com, and whatever2@purpleturtle.com- to one inbox! -Ease of use. Overall this ...

Advantages: Quick to load and very easy to use+ its free and helps the wildlife.. Disadvantages: what dissadvantages
PURPLETURTLE.COM is a free email servicewith a difference well two actually, one being the violent purple colour scheme which is completly at odds with the restful purposeful work that it does, and two beingg is a commitment to remit twenty percent of its advertising revenues to help endangered species.
You can see a tracking map of some of the endangered animals that purpleturtle is sponsering by clicking on the link.
Iv been around a few email ... ...this is the best iv come across.
Emails can be collected automatically from external POP accounts and you can have multiple addresses for incoming and outgoing mail.
You can set up folders within folders, create multiple signatures, and theres a choice of outlook style stationary for the HTML-format
