When it comes to QVC the shopping channel, it seems that each person views it differently. I have bought many things over the past 10 years or so from QVC, and I have been motivated to buy because I have tuned into the TV channel early on a Saturday or Sunday morning to be entertained more than anything else. It has always fascinated me how the presenters can find things to talk about just one product for so long, yet they usually do very well. In fact with some products slots, I often get inspiration of what to write about various products I own on Ciao. On an early weekend morning, I am usually watching gardening with Richard Jackson -you find some real character on that spot, or if it comes on, my favourite Hi-Tech Toys or Home Electrical programs. My wife usually watches programs about jewellry, fashion or home and leisure. QVC broadcasts 24 hours a day, so may be some easy-watching for insomniacs.
QVC can be viewed on Freeview, Sky or Virgin TV and they also have a very good website, where you can view the live broadcast from their website, watch video demos of most products, get their full TV listings or view any one of a huge list of branded products. Links on the website include Beauty, Fashion, Shoes and Handbags and Jewellery. Home and Leisure, Electricals, Garden and DIY etc…
I have found that QVC's products are extremely competitively priced, and I have often Googled a product that they have on screen to see if I can get a better deal, but nearly always, QVC has come out as the best buy. And the presenters often invite their viewers to do this, so the company is very confident that they are offering a good deal.
Buying from QVC is easy. If you are watching TV and you see something you want, you can pick up the phone and dial the order-line which is a freephone 0800 number. You can then provide details of a credit or debit card, name and address and that's it. Sometimes however, with very popular products, there can be telephone queues, but you can apply for membership and will be provided with a card and membership number and there are other options...
Once you have membership, (that can be set up on their website) you have a choice of how to order via their website or…
- If you have Sky or Virgin TV, you can then… order with your remote control via QVC's interactive service.
- An automated touch-tone telephone ordering system called "Qcut" using a freephone number.
- Using your mobile phone via text of speaking to one of the orderline team directly, again on a freephone number.
Whenever I tune into QVC, it isn't long before I am watching a demo of "Today's Special Offer" where it comes up on screen what the price normally is, and what the reduction is until midnight of that particular day. Price reductions vary, but sometimes they can be quite substantial.
So there's a huge range of products, far too many to list here, from famous brand TVs and computers to Yankee Candles and products of her and him and last Xmas we got a lot of ideas as to what to buy family members for Xmas.
Definitely worth a watch on TV or a visit to their website. And has saved me a lot of stressful shopping around using up my expensive petrol all year round.
Delivery
QVC aims to deliver your purchases from 3 - 5 days and I have often found an item being delivered the very next day. If an item is out of stock, you can still order but your card will not be charged until that item is back in stock and your order is being processed for delivery.
Returns.
All products on QVC are guaranteed and has a full 30-day no-questions-asked return policy. I once bought an item that wasn't what I thought it would be, I simply phoned the company and they sent me a pre-paid returns label and I returned the item. When I went to explain why I didn't want the product, they simply told me that they didn't need to know, as I could send anything back if I was unsatisfied for any reason.
If there is a fault with any product, it will be repaired or replaced or you can have a refund.
To summarise then, I find QVC an entertaining and stress-free way to shop for many products.
