The Qxl auction site is probably the best known auction site in the Internet. There are many categories of items to bid on and the site is well laid out. Much of the lots are for new items offered by Qxl themselves and for other recommended suppliers. You can literally spend hours searching through the lots here.
On the advantage side of using Qxl is that they inform you by email as soon as anyone outbids you, allowing you to go back and place a higher bid on that item, and so giving you more chance of acquiring the item. One huge downside of the site is the amount of broken links. You get very frustrated clicking for more details of an item and being directed to the home page. This has put me off the site many times.

Advantages: You can set a limit, and your safe in the knowledge, you won't pay any more! Disadvantages: It is not often that you get such a bagain as I did.
