Hello all,
It's been a long time since I last wrote an op. Think that was something to do with being told to get the hell of the Internet when I'm at work!!
Well, here I am going against my employers just to bring this news to you all!!
Okay then! www.qxl.com what can I say.
The site itself is well presented and very well organised. It is easy to find what you are looking for. The site caters from the .Net password facilitiy (which I do NOT trust at all!). The login feature of the site is the most unreliable feature as you seem to have to log in several times in one session.
The point of the site is simply. People auction off their 'stuff' and other people surf on and buy their 'stuff'. You simply bid for the items you want. A nice little feature of qxl is the maximum bid option whereby you can bid say £5 for an item and set your max. bid to £10. This way if someone outbids you then you will automatically 'out-bid' them!
You can also track your bids and get SMS alerts to notify you when you have won an auction or been out-bid.
Now then, heres to the main point of this op. Before you make a serious bid for an item you should view the sellers stats. Their stats tell you the number of positive, neutral and negative ratings. For those you are not unfamiliar with ratings then people who buy items are encouraged to return to the site and give feedback to the seller on what you thought of them.
Anyways, you should check the sellers stats and read the comments about them. There are sellers called 'star sellers' and in light of recent experiences of mine you should only buy from 'star sellers'.
I'm not going to waffle on about my bad experience with the site, this is an informative op not a personal rant.
Thank-you for your time in reading this :-)
