Advantages: nice and easy listening Disadvantages: too much football

The station is musically quite akin to the "new-look" Radio 2 from the BBC. On Liberty you will not hear any rap, jungle or garage and most of the tunes played are from the 70s, 80s or early 90s.
This is no bad thing as it is pleasant to listen to and inoffensive.

The station is musically quite akin to the "new-look" Radio 2 from the BBC. On Liberty you will not hear any rap, jungle or garage and most of the tunes played are from the 70s, 80s or early 90s. This is no bad thing as it is pleasant to listen to and inoffensive. Liberty is owned by the owner of Harrods and Fulham football club and in amongst this easy listening and gentle banter there is a strong bias to this football team to the extent that all matches are covered live and in full. This sticks out in the scheduling arn is a great pity. The breakfast show was until recently hosted by Toby Anstis and was excellent, sadly he has moved back into television and his role is taken by a Canadaian DJ named "Mousse" - he is not a good substitute and is rather a harsh start to the day. Liberty took over these frequencies from Viva - a station aimed at women that got into financial difficulty - like Viva I think Liberty is likey to find more female than male listeners - it is a shame the priority given to one football team is at the expense of some other very good programmes.
