What is it: Ryanair is a low cost flight company Ryanair.com is the site where passengers can price up and book flights with the company. The site also allows customers to book a range of other travel arrangements now too such as cheap hotels, car hire and travel insurance.
The site: The website is very easy to find as it is simply the name with the .com. The site will automatically connect you to the homepage which is very eye catching in bright yellow and blue. The site has plenty of links to various other things from the main homepage and overall in my opinion is pretty easy to use. The reason I think this is because everything is laid out in the order that most customers will need it. For example, on the main page there is the search engine to the left hand side to go ahead and search for those flights that you want. To the centre section is normally the offers that are being run of which you can click on to find out more about and to the top of the page is links to all things that you need or want whilst on the site such as travel questions, destinations, news, about us and timetables. To the right of the page is normally a lot of links to partner sites. Overall there are lots of links available to click onto and if ever want to get back to the main homepage you can click on the ryanair logo that is in the top left hand corner.
Booking flights: If you want to go ahead and actually confirm flights then this can be done by searching for your flight using the left hand column where it will ask you to input whether it is one way or return, the date, the route and the number of passengers of adults, children and infants. You then click onto the 'book flights' button and this will bring up any available flights to choose from along with the price of the flight next to it. Normally this price is before taxes so if you want to get the full flight cost you will need to select that particular flight and then in the box that is next to that chosen flight it will tell you the tax as well and give you the total fare. You need to do this for the inbound flight to if you have selected to book return flights. Once you have selected your chosen flight or flights you can then continue on to the next page by pressing the 'select and continue'. This will then show you a summary of the flights you have chosen along with your total cost. This price always includes hand luggage but as with most low cost carrier flights the charge for hold baggage is not included. You can choose to either pay for this on top of your flights before confirming or you can pay for it at the airport although it is cheaper to do online.
The website will ask you to input all the names of the passengers along with choosing whether or not to take out their travel insurance and if you want to pay for hold bags and how many. Once you have done all this it will then take you through to pay for the flights which can be done with a variety of cards. Some will have charges and these vary depending on what type of card it is such as a credit card or debit card. Once you have input this information to go ahead and actually confirm you simply click on the 'confirm flights' button. Whilst the flights are confirming you should not refresh the page or click back until the page displays a confirmation number. The confirmation number will usually consist of letters and numbers and this is what needs to be quoted at check in to receive your boarding card.
Confirmation: Normally after confirming you will receive an email detailing what you have booked. You can then check in online using your confirmation number but this is only possible for passengers not travelling with hold baggage. It is really important that before you book anything, that all the passengers names and dates of the flights chosen is correct - this may sound simple enough but believe me it does happen and Ryanair do charge even if you only just made the reservation to make amendments so them cheap flights could become not so cheap after all!
How fast is it: The website is very fast at finding results and is also very secure for when paying for your purchase. The layout means that if you search and need to search for something else it is very easy to get back to the main page. When confirming flights it takes less than a minute for it to book the seats and give you your reference number.
Tips: If you find a fare on ryanair.com for a flight you want it is best to book it as soon as possible. With all the low cost flight companies they sell seats cheaply at first and then as they sell more seats they go up in price. They also go up the closer it gets to departure. As a guidance every time a low cost airline sells approximately 6 seats the fare rises for the next 6 and so on. This is why you should book as soon as possible if you find a really cheap deal.
Make sure you check all the terms and conditions before booking - the charges for amendments soon add up!
If you have a special need it might be worth phoning them before making the booking online.
When going through to book flights it will automatically put insurance and speedy boarding onto the flight so if you don't want these remember to take them off.
Overall opinion: I have used ryanair on numerous occasions to go to Dublin and have always booked early to get the best price. The website is really easy to use especially for anybody who already uses the internet on a regular basis anyway. I would highly recommend ryanair.com as it's easy to use, fast and displays all prices clearly enough for me to see exactly what I'm paying. The site is updated regularly and this makes is a great site to use as a customer.
Advantages: Easy to navigate Disadvantages: none that I could find
...budget airline web sites.
Ryanair.com was the early winner purely because it was the only site that actually quoted prices that far ahead; Easyjet and Flybe were only able to quote prices up to the 26th March, which was no good to me, as I needed dates in April. Hence I plunged into the Ryanair web site in search of a bargain and I was not disappointed.
Usually I do not trust those fantastic sounding offers of flights being from £0.99 but on this ... ...looking at some great deals. So how is the site to use?
Homepage
Nice and bright with a lot of information however it does manage to present this in an organised way. The predominant colours are blue and yellow with black typeface. A headline banner proclaims the latest deals and there are links to three or four current news stories or press releases about the company. Also across the top is a list of the languages the site is available in although ...

Advantages: It so cheap its crazy I tell you!!!! Disadvantages: I haven't found any big one's yet, but the site can be a little slow.
I am so excited I have just bagged myself an excellent bargain!
I joined up to the member’s section on www.ryanair.com and I regularly receive offer via my email.
Well I went to check my email this morning and they had sent me a new offer through. There were various destinations available including Dublin, Genoa, Brussels and several more, all with prices from 1 pound + airport tax. I am usually a little skeptical when it comes to offers, ... ...it, there all gone, snapped up by the early morning web thieves… who are these people that get all the great offers?
I thought I would click and have a look anyway not expecting anything from it. I fancied Dublin for a bit of a break, I had been there with Ryan Air before and both the flight and my time there were fantastic. Low and behold they seemed to have some seats available, so I did the necessary ring round to gather up the troops. ...

Before you read this is just to let you know that my review is of the Ryan Air website, the booking process and my experience of using the website not the actual flights as I have not yet been on them. Navigation The Ryan Air hompage is quite self explanatory . Across the top you will find different tabs for other service Ryan Air provide (or their partners) for car hire, cheap hotels, travel insurance, the Ryan Air credit car, etc, etc. Underneath ... ...people who have already booked a flight), destinations, News, Timetables, Contact Customer Services. In the centre of the page is the main search for flights which is the usual drop down boxes. But on the left hand side of the screen is where Ryan Air advertises it’s latest special offers, which today is 1 Million Seats for £10 per person for flights during April, May and June, although here I will point out that this offer isn’t on every route and ...

Welcome to Ryanair.com the online booking facility that rises above the rest when it comes to cheap flights. Brussels £8.00 - Hamburg £4.00 - Glasgow £4.00. All these prices are based on way routes. Im currently in the process of booking 2 flights to Dublin from Stansted Airport for a friends wedding in Ireland in April. After hearing many of the stories of their cheap flights, I decided to browse the RyanAir website for a good deal. To be honest, im not impressed with their prices and deals but their website is very nice. Layout and presentation. ------------------------ Good. Very Bright and colourful using a White background for the text ... ...in keeping with their corporate colours. Not too over the top and I was able to see things clearly. Navigation. ----------- Pretty simple apart from finding the booking form. Then, there it was sitting miles away from the navigation menu on the left hand side. It was a big button sitting in the top right hand corner. I was able to find all the relevant info on their site regarding their timetable and special deals. It was good that their other services ...
