Scour.com is another internet based 'share' facility where you can exchange mp3 music files with other people.
I must admit I am a very new user to this service and will be editing this review when I am more au-fait with the site, but first impressions are good.
Before you can use the site you need to download some software about 1.5MB or 5-10 minutes for a 56kbps modem.
Anyone ... ...as the options and layout are similar. The search facility is good and tonight (28/7) there were almost 60 thousand people logged on, which is a lot more than I ever found with Napster which is a good sign.
Downloading though is slower, this may be due to the number of people logged in, which may be partly due to Napsters demise. Having said that it seems more reliable, although I can't confirm this yet as I have only tried a few ... more

Scour Exchange is a very similar program to the much publicised Napster. Basically it allows you to sahre files (not just music either) with other internet users.
You login to scour exchanges and it allows you to search across the shared drives worldwide for the item you want.
This system is also under attack from the music industry so it may well disappear like Napster is about to.
Scour is fairly good and allows a number of search options so ... ...very similar to napster and the quantity of available files is vast.
the front end is a little iffy and I think that others are better but that is a minor gripe.
The biggest problem with this and napster is that downloads cannot be resumed. So when you line goes down you have to start again. A good program and helping to keep the internet free. ...

Advantages: Free music and videos, YEY !!!! Disadvantages: Napster has more content available to its users that Scour does.
Scour was set up to allow its users to share Audio, Video and Picture files, many people will be familure with such a concept with the Napster program being so succesful.
Here is how Scour compares to Napster:
1) Scour allows you to share more than just MP3 files. Other types of audio files as well as video and pictures may be shared. This is particularly usefull for anyone searching pornography or music videos.
2) With far more people using Napster ... ...Napster gets shut down its users will be looking to alternatives such as Scour to do their file trading.
3) The interface of Scour isnt totaly different from Napster, the basic concept is really the same and people should really have much difficulty in using it.
I would deffinately reccomend for people to give Scour a go, it is free afterall. ...

Scour.com allows you to search the Web for image, movie, audio files, but the main attraction to Scour.com for me is Scour Exchange. Scour Exchange is an application very much like Napster (if you're unfamiliar with Napster, Scour Exchange basically lets you share your files with others on the Scour network, and likewise you have access to everyone else's, obviously you can specify which files to share, if any, but if you choose not to share anything ... ...Then by using Scour's search engine you can specify file name & type, i.e. image, movie, audio and then download the file straight from the owners computer.
When you log on Scour Exchange, it gves you a status on the amount of files shared, and there are always an immense amount available to you.
The downside to this application is actually finding files you want, which isn't too bad for mp3's and the like, but if you're after a specific picture ...

Scour.com allows you to download scourexchange. This program is much like napster music community but has several advantages over it's rival. Firstly it does not have the american government trying to shut it down! More importantly scourexchange allows the transfer of video files as well as audio files. it also allows the user to search the community or the web. i find scourexchange to have faster transfer rates than napster and tend to get better ...
